If you have read all the novels that Penelope & Vi have written together you already know that this is a MUST READ. And if you haven’t read, this is me telling you that this is a MUST read!
If you’ve met Chance (from COCKY BASTARD) , Graham (from STUCK-UP SUIT) & Carter (from PLAYBOY PILOT) and then I’m presuming they’ve stolen your heart. Now Penelope and Vi bring us Dexter and he will MARK you FOREVER.
Bianca George has an important interview with the enigmatic and very mysterious, Dexter Truitt, who is the CEO of “Montague Enterprises”. She is not looking forward to the interview because she has an aversion to men in suits. She has low expectations for men in power, like Dex, but this interview is needed, so she has no order option. On her way to meet him at his office, she accidentally gets stuck in the elevator, with who she assumes, is just a simple messenger named Jay Reed.
Dexter Truitt is a successful man trying to clean up his father’s mess and trying his hardest to not become like him, a cheater and a liar, but as soon as he met Bianca and learned her disregard for “men like Mister Moneybags” (as she likes to refer to him. As a man trying to come out the world for the first time, he’s intrigued to know why she thinks so low of him. So he made a quick decision and pretended to be someone else, Jay Reed, a simple bike messenger, in order to keep in touch with her. Well it proves to be more difficult than expected to be two men, especially when she’s getting to know both men, and both men are HIM.
Bianca loathes liars, thanks to past experiences. So when she finds out Jay and Dex are the same person, she’s very disappointed to lose both of them. Dex became just like his father, a liar. He begs Bianca for forgiveness, he promises to be forthcoming with her, he just wants a chance, but what happens when life puts you in a position that telling the truth will lead to losing her forever?
As in their previous books as co-writers, these two authors gave us yet another sexy, funny, smart couple with love and banter between them. The slow burn, the way they start to trust in each other after the initial trust was broken and then there is a BIG twist in the story that will stop your breath and you won’t be able to breath again until all things work out.
MISTER MONEYBAGS is a book that I loved reading!! Bianca & Dex’s story is now marked in my heart forever! I loved the funny moments, the romantic moments and the more serious moments. These amazing authors put their best while writing and give us one of the most memorable stories I’ve ever read. If you want a story that will steal some smiles and that will touch your heart, this is a book for you.
