Baseball has never been sexier in an all-new novel by New York Times Bestselling Author, K. Bromberg.
Easton Wylder is baseball royalty. The game is his life. His passion. His everything.
So, when an injury threatens to end Easton’s season early, the team calls in the renowned physical therapist, Doc Dalton, to oversee his recovery. Except it’s not Doc who greets Easton for his first session, but rather his daughter, Scout. She may be feisty, athletic, defiant, and gorgeous, but Easton is left questioning whether she has what it takes to help him.
Scout Dalton’s out to prove a female can handle the pressure of running the physical therapy regimen of an MLB club. And that proof comes in the form of getting phenom Easton Wylder back on the field. But getting him healthy means being hands-on.
And with a man as irresistible as Easton, being hands-on can only lead to one thing, trouble. Because the more she touches him, the more she wants him, and she can’t want him. Not when it’s her job to side in the club’s best interest if he’s ready to play.
But when sparks fly and fine lines are crossed, can they withstand the heat or is one of them bound to get burned?

Book Review: 5+++ stars!!!
I was kind of reluctant about Kristy Bromberg’s new series. Her “DRIVEN” series has given us such high expectations, but I knew deep down I would love this new story but I didn’t know if THE PLAYER will be able to give me what Colton & Rylee’s story has given me. But this is why I love Kristy’s writing, she has the gift of writing such amazing stories that will stay forever with you and hook you from the beginning and THE PLAYER was no exception. We are blessed to have these amazing characters from Kristy that will touch your heart and stay there long after the last page <3 . I love the banter between them! There’s no slow burn here, their attraction was immediate and almost explosive. I almost died of spontaneous combustion! Did I mention it was addictive too?? Be warned! You won’t be able to put it down.
Easton Wylder is the star catcher of the baseball team, “Austin Aces”. During one of his games, there’s a foul play that leaves him injured and unable to play. Now he will do whatever it takes to get back in the game and to prove to the team (and his father, the “Iron Giant” Cal Wylder, who, too played for the “Austin Aces”) that he is still the best catcher.
Scout Dalton has decided to get what her dad always wanted, a long – term contract with the “Austin Aces” baseball team. Her father, renowned rehab therapist and living a life on the road, he knows what it’ll be like for Scout if she plans to follow in his footsteps. She’ll forever be in his shadow and have a life of solitude. So he’s given her the tools to attempt to secure a contract and in turn, to be able to have a home and a family in ONE place and allow her a way to break out of his shadow. Scout has three months to get “the player” back to 100% playing form. Three months to prove to the world she’s capable of working in a man dominated world and the most importantly: to not disappoint his dad.
Rehabbing a player is not new for her, so she thinks it will be easy, but she wasn’t counting on encountering Easton Wylder, the player with the most sexy and cocky smile. She has to remind herself of what her dad always says: “Clear Mind, Hard Heart” and only refer to the client as “the player”, names make it too personal. But Easton is making that very difficult.
We can’t fight or choose when or with whom we will fall for. Love is unpredictable. Love is about fulfilling the needs and wants and these two characters NEED and WANT each other in more ways than just rehab.
This story is not only about their romance and connection, it’s about trust, it’s about the fear of losing someone you love, it’s about the fear of feeling abandoned, and it’s packed with strong emotions. All the feels!
Those hesitations I mentioned in the beginning, were completely “hit out of the park” with this novell! THE PLAYER is another “HOME RUN” for K. Bromberg and I would recommend it for all fans – newbies to her stories and returning fans alike!
If you love sports romance (this book is SO much more than sports BTW), sweet romance stories that will touch your heart, THIS book is for you!!! With that unexpected ending, we’re left wanting more of Easton & Scout and definitely left wanting answers to how their story will have a HEA! Thankfully all those answers will come in June, when the final book THE CATCH is expected to be released.
