Baseball has never been sexier in an all-new novel by New York Times Bestselling Author, K. Bromberg.

Easton Wylder is baseball royalty. The game is his life. His passion. His everything.

So, when an injury threatens to end Easton’s season early, the team calls in the renowned physical therapist, Doc Dalton, to oversee his recovery. Except it’s not Doc who greets Easton for his first session, but rather his daughter, Scout. She may be feisty, athletic, defiant, and gorgeous, but Easton is left questioning whether she has what it takes to help him.

Scout Dalton’s out to prove a female can handle the pressure of running the physical therapy regimen of an MLB club. And that proof comes in the form of getting phenom Easton Wylder back on the field. But getting him healthy means being hands-on.

And with a man as irresistible as Easton, being hands-on can only lead to one thing, trouble. Because the more she touches him, the more she wants him, and she can’t want him. Not when it’s her job to side in the club’s best interest if he’s ready to play.

But when sparks fly and fine lines are crossed, can they withstand the heat or is one of them bound to get burned?

Book Review: 7 Kitty stars!!!

“… there are not guarantees, but it’s the possibility that should keep you going.”

The Sports Contemporary Romance has never been more freaking awesome! The stakes for the Sports-BBF just risen to the ultimate level. And who better to deliver than one of the best authors out there?

The Player is the first part in Bromberg’s new series, The Player. I guess the 99% of the book ladies out there you already know what this book is about. But if you aren’t one of those, I will lay it out for you: Easton Wylder. A baseball royalty who had the luck – bad or good only the future will show – to get injured in a very serious way which forced him to step out of the field for over 6 months. Scout Dalton. The daughter of the best Physical Therapist (aka PT) in the sports world who is trying to prove her worth not only to the world but also her daddy. Two complete strangers with complete different goals in life and hidden scars which neither wants to bring to the surface again. But Life can be a major bitch sometimes and the best player in the game she has created for each one of us. And “signing Scout as Easton’s PT for the last 3 months of his recovery is how she starts this game. Both Easton and Scout is about to enter the whirlwind of their lives.

From where to start, to where to continue and to where to finish with this book. Even knowing and have already experienced the powers Bromberg’s stories and characters, it still got me by surprise the insane amount of power this book was hiding in its fast-turning pages. So much that I actually made it a RE-READ in less than 24 hours. I just had to experience it once more before falling into the torture of waiting for the second book. Is it June yet? Really, the suspense is k-i-l-l-i-n-g me. I always had a love-hate relationship with cliffhangers; the most cruel, hanging and freaking amazingly agonizing they were, the more I seemed to love to hate them. And these 4 first months of 2017 gave me more than my share of cliffhangers for the rest of the year. Bromberg proving to provide one of the torturous ones.

Chaos has never looked more inviting.

No one can denies that Mrs Kristy “K.” Bromberg is master of creating some of the most swoon-worthy, amazing and unforgettable BBFs that exist in the Contemporary Romance world. Colton Donovan, the first Bromberg BBF I got to meet, is still seared into my heart and soul and I can never forget him. And honestly who would want to? Certainly not ME! This time, the guy she created has surpassed every expectation. Easton Wylder is simply a pure masterpiece. There isn’t a moment during the book that Easton wasn’t revealing a new level of his himself, showing his true colors and the golden personality he had hidden deep down under all this cocky, arrogant, top-of-the-world mask he was wearing and which needed just 1 good reason to get unleashed. I written down so many amazing qualities of this man just so I can create the perfect file for him. But there were 3 specific whose existence and gravity was impossible to ignore; First of all, his dedication. No matter what was going on around him, he was giving all his body and soul into everything he was doing. And there was no way Scout would escape this list. Actually, she jumped straight at the very top positions. How can anyone not be moved by this kind of sincerity and depth in a guy? Next comes, his charity. More than the most of the public figures that exist and have existed in this world, entwine their image with actions of charity. But most of the time you can see clearly who is sincere about it. And Easton more than falls in this category. His heart is so big that he couldn’t not give a part of him to something he feels passionate about through his donations. And last but certainly not least, he’s a book lover. I mean, honestly? How freaking HOT is that? I’ll tell you. Scorching hot! It really is unnecessary to explain why this was one of the Easton’s personality’s elements that stood out. The words speak for themselves.

As for Scout, this woman, beyond being the best match for someone like Easton, proved to be a very tough nut to crack. She gives Scrat’s oak a run for its money. As a female, by default, she has much more levels in her personality and the complexity in what-made-her-what-she-is-today also increased. Just like her other half, she also has buried down into her some things which have left some pretty deep scars into her. And just like any woman who is independent and doesn’t allow the past determine her future, she put her big-panties on and sailed to conquer her dreams. But the thing with the scars is that when they haven’t healed, they always tend to open again and cause pain. And Easton is determined – to quote him – to “slay some dragons” for her and make her whole again so he can finally become whole too. What really tagged at my heart when it came to her was that beyond the hard-ass-woman image she was showing, she really was a girl who was afraid to take a chance again at something that had hurt her before and she simply needed someone stronger than her to guide her through it so she could find happiness again. Undoubtedly, she is and will remain one of the most incredible female characters that I have ever had the chance to meet and place in my heart.

The worst part about telling yourself lies is you know the real truth. And the truth is I want everything I just tried to convince myself I didn’t.

I can go talking for hours about this book and about all its parts. Trying to answer every question that rose, trying to find the pieces to the puzzle Kristy has created in her mind and make theories about this and that. I always adored puzzles and this one just got a hell lot of intriguing and unable to leave unsolved. May the second book is less than 2 months away – that’s time in a child’s play – but that period never seemed more long. Hurry up April, May and June! I need The Catch…. ASSSSAP!!! As for Kristy Bromberg, I can’t say much. If you haven’t indulged into her books, go do it NOW!! I guarantee that you will walk away with BBFs permanently tattooed on your heart and body. She is simply amazing. The rest is for you to figure out. And you definitely want to figure them out.

So, I will leave you and close this review with one of the best quotes of this book:

What’s right, Scout, is defending what you care about.

“And what’s that?

Not what, but who.”
