New York’s Finest
Blogging as *The Socialmedialite*

LADIES AND GENTS! I have an announcement!

You know that guy I featured on my blog a few months ago? The really, really hot Irish rugby player who plays the position of ‘hooker’ in the RLI (Rugby League International)? The one with the anger management issues, the body of a gladiator and the face of a movie star? The one with the questionable fashion choices leading me to ask whether he was the lovechild of a leprechaun and a hobbit? Ronan Fitzpatrick? Yeah, that guy.

Well, I have a confession to make…

THE HERMIT

Annie Catrel, social media expert extraordinaire at Davidson & Croft Media and clandestine celebrity blogger, can make anyone shine in the court of public opinion. She is the Socialmedialite, anonymous creator of New York’s Finest and the internet’s darling. Virtual reality is Annie’s forte, but actual reality? Not so much.

THE HOOKER

Ronan Fitzpatrick, aka the best hooker the world of rugby has seen in decades, despises the media—social or otherwise. The press has spun a web of lies depicting him as rugby’s wild and reckless bad boy. Suspended from his team, Ronan has come to Manhattan to escape the drama, lay low, fly under the radar. Only, Ronan isn’t easy to overlook, and he can’t escape the notice of the Socialmedialite…

THE PLAN

When Ronan is sent to Davidson & Croft Media to reshape his public image, he never expects to cross paths with shy but beautiful Annie, nor does he expect his fierce attraction to her. He couldn’t be happier when her boss suggests pairing them together.
What lengths will Annie take to keep her virtual identity concealed? And what happens when the hooker discovers who the hermit really is?

The Hooker and the Hermit is a collaboration between authors L.H. Cosway and Penny Reid, is a full length 100k word novel, and is a standalone.

“OH Ronan, I LOVE you!! <3 ” *please read with Irish accent*

Where does The Hooker and the Hermit rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

What an amazing book and audiobook. I started this series backwards, I first read The Cad and The Co-Ed and I needed to read the first two books, and when I saw it had audiobook already, I decided to get it and Oh. My. God. what a huge surprise! I mean, I knew Ronan was Irish and I was expecting a narration with a slight accent, but I was so wrong, the Irish accent George and Lucy were perfect, flawless, very real and most of all, fitting for the story and the characters. So, the audiobook made The Hooker and the Hermit more enjoyable, made me love the characters like crazy, crave for more about their love story and of course, made me more curious about the other two audios, because if this production was as amazing as it was, my expectations of the other two are higher now.

What other book might you compare The Hooker and the Hermit to and why?

At first, I thought this story was going to be a little like the movie “How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days”, but I was so wrong. I loved the authenticity in the story, the realism of the characters and how relatable they were. The Hooker and the Hermit is really an amazing book.

What does George Allen and Lucy Rivers bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Their accents, of course. I’m a huge fan of Jamie Dornan and I’ve watched everything he’s made. One of his best works is the TV Show The Fall and the Irish accent in it is so thick, it was hard to understand from time to time, but despite George and Lucy, but specially George, had thick Irish accents, I could understand everything perfectly. Their pronunciation, pace and connection with the characters and story were also very well made. Kudos for both of them.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

I wish I had the opportunity to do so, but work and life in general kept getting in the way, but the times I had to dive into this amazing audiobook and story, I felt complete and totally and utterly in love with Ronan and Annie <3

Any additional comments?

The Hooker and the Hermit is a story about trust, love and overpassing fears. Annie was left down when she was very little, so it was hard for her to trust and open up to people. Ronan was betrayed by his girlfriend and for him it was hard to trust too, but when they met each other, something shifted, the attraction was strong and despite Annie fought against her feelings for so long, Ronan never gave up, he was relentless and got what he wanted, and that was Annie.

I’m not surprised I loved this book as much as I did. I laughed out loud and swooned over Ronan. I felt protective and supportive of Annie. I fell in love with both characters and obviously, celebrated their HEA! Like I said already, I loved the audiobook and adored the book. Perfect Rom-Com. 200% Recommendable.

PS: Get ready Cassidy, I’m coming for you. I loved you in The Cad and The Co-Ed but I hated you in this book. You’ll have to make up for all your bad behavior in this book. Your only hope is that I already love you 😀
