Exclusively written for Audible, available only in audio. From the New York Times best-selling author of the Rock Chick series comes a story of love, murder, and second chances....

When small-town Nebraska sheriff Hixon Drake meets Greta Dare, the connection couldn't be stronger, but the timing couldn't be worse.

Dealing with the fallout of a divorce he never wanted and setting up a new home for his kids, Hix becomes that guy, that one he never wanted to be, and puts a stop to things before they can even start. Protecting his kids and himself is his only priority.

Greta, on the other hand, has found the place for her and the brother she adores that's perfect for them - a sleepy little town in Nebraska. She's learned from life that there are no hopes and dreams. The only thing to look forward to is peace. And that's what she works hard to build for herself and her brother. Right up until Hix walks into her life.

Hix can't fight the pull and stay away from Greta for long. And Greta's finding it hard not to hope for something more with all the promise that is Hix.

But when the first murder that's happened in over five decades rocks his small, sleepy county, Hix has got to learn to trust again, convince Greta to take a shot with him, and at the same time catch a killer.

In other words, things are definitely...Complicated.

Audiobook Review: 5+++ Stars

What was one of the most memorable moments of Complicated?

Complicated is a heartwarming love story about family and second chances in life.

Hixon and Greta met each other in the right moment of their lives, even if they thought it wasn’t. Hixon just got divorced and was focused on his three kids and work, and Greta was also a divorcee but her relationship was over a while ago. She moved to a small town in search of the peaceful and quiet place to live with her brother, the most important person in the world for her.

One night stand turned out to be the start of something beautiful and amazing for both of them, but things that are worthwhile are not always easy, they had to face a lot of drama coming from both their pasts but true love is true love and it always wins.

It’s hard to choose a memorable moment in this book, because everything that happened with both of them was amazing, how Hixon’s kids accepted and defended Greta was so beautiful, how Hixon accepted, protected and helped Greta’s brother was also amazing and obviously, how their relationship grew stronger with every moment. I love that it wasn’t a insta-love story, it made it feel more real.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Both Greta and Hixon were amazing. I loved their maturity, their commitment and love for their families, and I loved how much they loved each other. But my ultimate favorite character was Hixon’s son, he was only 17 but he was thoughtful, caring and had the most amazing heart in the world. He’s got his dad’s heart, for sure <3 He’d be an amazing book boyfriend if he had his own book.

What about  Lance Greenfield and Erin Mallon’s performance did you like?

They were A.M.A.Z.I.N.G!!! I loved their voices, inflexions, accents, pronunciations. Everything about their performances was incredible. I’m so happy this book was written exclusively for audio because everybody will have to listen to Lance and Erin being Hixon and Greta. Their voices matched the character’s personalities, and they way they read this story, it was like literally watching a movie.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Abso-fucking-lutely. This is an audio that every fan of KA should listen to, and also every person who loves to read/listen to romance, who wants to swoon over smooth sexy voices like Lance’s. 200% recommended.

Any additional comments?

All in all, Complicated was an amazing audiobook full of love, family and life. I need more stories like this, so real and romantic and beautiful.
