Growing up the outcast in an infamous family of psychics, Nate Black never learned how to control his empath abilities. Then after five years without contact, his estranged twin turns up dead in New York City. The claim of suicide doesn’t ring true, especially when a mysterious vision tells Nate it was murder. Now his long-hated gift is his only tool to investigate.

Hitching from his tiny Texas town, Nate is picked up by Trent, a gorgeous engineer who thrives on sarcasm and skepticism. The heat that sparks between them is instant and intense, and Nate ends up trusting Trent with his secrets—something he’s never done before. But once they arrive in the city, the secrets multiply when Nate discovers an underground supernatural community, more missing psychics, and frightening information about his own talent.

Nate is left questioning his connection with Trent. Are their feelings real, or are they being propelled by abilities Nate didn’t realize he had? His fear of his power grows, but Nate must overcome it to find his brother’s killer and trust himself with Trent’s heart.

I’m a big fan of Santino Hassell writing, this book is not exception. I’ll try tell you a little of what to expect in Insight without spoiling it, is a paranormal thriller with romance.

Nate, the narrator of the story, is an empath. He can feel other people’s emotions and comes from a family of psychics. This story takes us on a road trip, from Texas to New Orleans to New York, and introduces us other characters, most of whom are members of “The Community”, which is confirmed for other psychics, an organized group of them. and there is Trent who isn’t a psychic but grad student, a regular guy very smart but with no special powers.

Nate is determined to figure out what happened to his twin brother Theo and the true about his death, and take Trent with him in this journey. The connection between Nate and Trent is strong and instantaneous and as hot as can be when you can feel all your partners desires and lust.

There is so much yet to be discovered of those characters and about Trent whom I believed the author purposely didn’t revealed to much about.

Santino Hassell is an incredible writer, his way of develop a tale and it’s characters is flawless.

I’m hooked and can’t wait for Book 2!
