I’ve always had one rule:

Don’t mix business and pleasure.

But then Landon Wright comes home to his family’s construction company with a broken back and a beaten heart and ends up as my new sexy boss. As the office gets heated, I’m thinking about throwing the rulebook out the window.

If only there weren’t a million reasons this could never work.

We may have shared a single perfect kiss, but I can’t let our intense connection cloud my judgment. Not with everything I’ve worked for on the line.

Dating your boss is so very, very wrong…even if he feels so Wright.

It was the “Wright” thing to do to read this second book on THE WRIGHT BROTHERS series *wink* After reading Jensen & Emery’s story, I was VERY intrigued to know more about Texas royalty, The Wrights and now it was Landon Wright’s turn.

So if you read THE WRIGHT BROTHER (book # 1) you know that Landon once dated Emery Robinson in high school. He dumped her, left her with a broken heart and moved on with his life. He got married to a selfish woman who everyone hates, and went to Florida to pursue his dream of becoming a professional golfer. He is very famous and successful but his marriage is a total failure. He just realized his wife is not the woman he thought she was when they married and he can hardly bear being around her, so when he finds out that she doesn’t want to have children with him, he decides to go back to his hometown and leave her.

The last time he was in Lubbock, he found out that Emery and his brother, Jensen fell for each other, he felt weird about it, but he was married and he also felt interest for one of his friends back in high school, Heidi Martin. The last time they saw each other, they almost slept together. They were both drunk but nothing happened because he was still married to Miranda, his witch wife. But now that he’s back, there’s nothing standing in his way to have Heidi. The attraction between them is undeniable and unbearable, but he needs to fix his current status, he needs to get divorced.

Heidi Martin has earned the place where she is. She has worked hard to be there, she graduated at the top of her class in civil engineering and started to work as an intern at “Wright Constructions”. She’s been “climbing the ladder” with this job and there is no other thing that she loves more. But what happens when the guy she has a crush on becomed her new boss? She has just one rule: Don’t mix business and pleasure. But she wants everything with Landon, she knows that this can’t be “Wright”, their relationship can’t work, she can’t jeopardize her job. She worked her a** off for this, specially that there is an new opening in engineering and that she’s the most qualified to get it, but a relationship with Landon could risk that.

Landon can’t stop the feelings he has for Heidi, he should wait until he gets the divorce, until Miranda signs the papers, but it’s so hard to be around Heidi without claiming her. They love each other, but they should wait specially to not ruin Heidi’s career.

I really enjoyed reading this book! I loved Heidi, she’s such a strong woman, she knows what she wants, she’s a fighter. At the beginning, I was kinda upset with Landon, I think he should have fixed his “situation”, to get his divorce first and then go for Heidi. She deserves to be “the one” not “the other” But as the story develops, we get to know about their feelings, that they were actually in love! So if you are into “friends to lovers” story, office romance, this book is definitely for you. This can be read as a standalone, but I suggest you to read book 1 THE WRIGHT BROTHER first. Can’t wait for the next book, THE WRIGHT MISTAKE, Austin and Julia’s story.
