After an unexpected twist of fate, All-Star catcher Easton Wylder is left questioning the loyalty of everyone around him.
Even the woman who shares his bed, Scout Dalton.
But if Easton thought being uprooted to the last place he expected was the only challenge life had to throw at him, he was dead wrong.
With an ailing shoulder and his career in limbo, his decision to make an unexpected change leads him to question everything – Scout’s love, family loyalties, and whether he can conquer the one obstacle he’s never been able to overcome. The secret he’s never shared with anyone.
He may be a man pushed to his limits, but he’s hell-bent on proving his worth no matter the cost.

Book Review: 5 stars
There are authors that are able to give a lovely story that swoon your heart and there are authors like K. Bromberg (aka Kristy Bromberg) good beyond that and seem to always find a way to leave a mark on your heart. This is the very reason Kristy Bromberg is my MUST READ author for me. She always leaves us with a message and her stories touch that a deep fiber of your being that make you feels ALL THE FEELS and THE CATCH is no the exception.
THE PLAYER (The Player #1) ended with a cliffhanger: Easton’s future was hanging in the balance and was to be decided behind a closed door and the only one there to define that future, was his physical therapist and secret girlfriend, Scout. The result was NOT what everyone (including me) was expecting. The result: Easton was being traded to another team The Wranglers. *jaw hits the floor* Easton felt betrayed by the only woman he ever loved and the only team he’s known and had been devoted to his whole life. He didn’t understand what has happened and he didn’t want to hear Scout excuses or anyone’s for that matter.
Scout never wanted to make a decision like this, but she did what, in that circumstances, was best for Easton and even though he didn’t understand her reasoning, eventually he will learn that it was for the best. And even though she was jeopardizing her contract and her dad wishes, she felt it was the best decision for him.
Easton has a secret that he has kept hidden for as long as he can remember. He’s come to the horrifying realization that he’s in this situation because of that secret. He will learn to trust Scout in order to get the help he needs and the support he deserves. And of course Scout will always be there by his side no matter what. They had built this amazing relationship and there is nothing that can keep them apart.
I love the way Easton and Scout supported and loved each other in this book. The trials they are enduring in this book test their connection and love that they formed in THE PLAYER and make it hard for them to trust each other, but thankfully they realize that they can rely on each other no matter what. They learn how to bring down their walls and love and trust freely.
There are twists and suspense that I didn’t see coming that affected Scout and Easton’s lives drastically, but as long as they stick together, nothing can harm this lovely relationship.
This book was pure perfection! It had me feeling “all the feels” and constantly theorizing. Thanks to the amazing writing and plot, I was left creating a lot of scenarios in my mind throughout the book (which were mostly wrong lol) and it had me swooning over Easton with every sweet thing he did for Scout. Kristy nailed it again and hit it out of the park with this final book in this emotional and suspenseful duet. I’m extremely pleased with how their story went and overjoyed with how it ended. I can’t wait to read more of Kristy’s books in the future.
