The first time I met Caine West was in a bar.
He noticed me looking his way and mistakenly read my scowling as checking him out.
When he attempted to talk to me, I set him straight—telling him what I thought of his lying, cheating, egomaniacal ass.
You see, the gorgeous jerk had wined and dined my best friend--smooth talking her into his bed, all along failing to mention that he was married.
He deserved every bit of my tongue-lashing and more for what he'd done.
Especially when that lazy smile graced his perfect face in response to my rant.
Only it turned out, the man I'd just told off wasn't the right guy.
Oops. My mistake.
Embarrassed, I slunk out without an apology.
I was never going to see the handsome stranger again anyway, right?
That’s what I thought…until I walked into class the next morning.
Well, hello Professor West, I’m your new teaching assistant.
I’ll be working under you…figuratively speaking.
Although the literal interpretation might not be such a bad thing—working under Professor West.
This was going to be interesting…

Book Review: 5 stars
I’m out of words when I have to write any and all Vi Keeland book reviews. I’ve already said how good her books are, how she writes these amazing stories with the exact amount of feelings, the right amount of intrigue to keep us hooked in the story, the right amount of angst to make us dread a little, and the perfect amount of love. Just like a recipe, she gave us the best ingredients for us to devour and BEAUTIFUL MISTAKE was no exception.
After reading the blurb, you’ll know or think that this story is a forbidden love between professor and student *happy dance here* but this book is SO MUCH more. Caine West is the professor and Rachel Martin is his TA, but the journey they will go through is more about second chances, about forgiveness and kinda spiritual too.
When Caine met Rachel, he gave her the line “ Do I know you from somewhere?”, confusing him with someone else, she blurts out her b*tchiness response. Once she found out he isn’t who she thought, she felt terrible, but what were the chances to see a complete stranger again right? Well she saw him again. He is the professor at the Music Conservatory and she was assigned to be his teaching assistant (TA). Once again, fate is at work here, they have this intense chemistry together and this undeniable attraction. The feisty girl with the arrogant man. The perfect combination.
And if you think the forbidden relationship here is the main issue, nope you’re wrong, there is a twist in the story that you probably won’t see coming that will mark their fate, they will have to make decisions in order to stay together or maybe they think that the easy exit is stay apart. Read to find out!
If you’re a fan of Vi’s novels, you know you have to read this book and if you’re not, this is the perfect book to start with your adoration towards her and her amazing writing.
