Jacqueline: As an adult woman--and the vice president of a marketing firm--I shouldn't be waiting by my office window to ogle the mystery man who jogs by every morning at 11:45. Sure, he's a gorgeous, perfect specimen of the human race, but I can't bring myself to hit on a total stranger. However, my best friend-slash-colleague Vince Carson thinks I should do more than talk to the guy. In fact, he's borderline obsessive about "getting me laid." (His words.) But the more time we spend together, the more it's clear: The one I'm falling for is Vince.

Vince: Jackie Butler's got it bad for some pompous, over-pumped A-hole who struts his stuff past her window. That doesn't bother me. I know she deserves nice things. What does bother me is that she friend-zoned me big-time last year, so I can't ask her out myself. But what if I set her up with Mr. Steroids? Then, when he breaks her heart, I can swoop in and save her like the nice guy I am. Everything's going according to plan . . . until we share a ridiculously epic kiss. And suddenly anything is possible.

Book Review: 4 stars!!

Jessica Lemmon will never stop getting me hooked in with her stories.! It’s a life fact, like that!

Eye Candy is the gun-start of the new Real Love series. And as the name indicates it’s about stories of true love. Well, duh! But Lemmon’s true love stories are a category of their own. And this one didn’t fall far from the amazingness Lemmon’s tree is. The story goes like this: Vince Carson. Jacqueline Butler. Both VPs in the same company. Both divorsed. Both a best friend to each other. Jacqueline though she has crush on the hot guy who runs by her office window every morning at 11:45 dan! Vince has a crush on Jackie. So, he forms a plan; he will hook her up with that guy so, when he will be proven to be a jerk, he will be waiting with open arms for her to comfort her and put the second part of his “Make Jackie Butler Mine” plan in motion. But as Life has it, the things don’t go as planned.

“Give me a chance to blow your mind, Butler.”

The chemistry between these two? Only as “slizzing” can be described. And the fact that these two share a similar emotional situation such as a divorce, makes their bonding and the feelings that evolve that much more powerful. Though, when a heart finds her meant-to-be, the only way she moves is forward and towards it. And that’s what happened with Vince and Jackie. Both their hearts recognized its each other in one another which lead to the intense feelings that were flowing throughout the story.

“You want to be with Vince? Why not start now?”

One of the things that grabbed my attention was how both Vince and Jackie was affected from their divorce. Every time they were mentioned, in either case, I could see clearly how much of themselves (the heroes) have taken away, transforming them into two insecure individuals who have built a wall around them so they feel protected. Thank God, Life doesn’t work like that and denied to let me in the state they put themselves in. So, she intervened like she only knows how; making them fall madly in love with each other. Granted, the road wasn’t always – actually most of the time – covered with rose petals and they had to go through some heavy obstacles, created either from the outside or their own self. But, in the end, they succeded to overcome them and get rid or everything that was holding them back so they can have their HEA together.

If I’m lucky enough that this grows into more, I’ll make sure there is no quick anything.

Two other things that I loved about this book and this couple was first, the sudden humoristic moments that were sprouting in places that I didn’t expect them to be and second, Davis’s story. As for the first, they added an extra layer of amazingness into the story and was one of the things that seemed to bring Vince and Jackie closer and intensify their connection. As for the second, well; when I said that I loved Davis’s story, what I meant, was that I loved the mystery over him since, those who have read the book know that, we don’t really know his real deal. They are some sneak peaks here and there that give you an idea about his past and the reason why he behaves the way he behaves, but, as far as his present and the realtionship with a specific woman is concerned, we are in total black. Which means that it makes it even more intriguing for my bookworm brain to learn ASAP his whole story and finally figure him out.

I hear a click and figure it’s my brain turning on the lightbulb over my head.

She loves me.

“Say that again, Butler. Slower.”

Since day 1, Jessica Lemmon captured my heart with her stories and made me a lifelong fan of hers. There is no book after Fighting for Devlin that I have missed. Her books have become a no-brainer for me. If you haven’t tried them yet, then GO!! You gonna love them 😉 I really can’t wait for the next two books in this exciting series.
