her just barely, and she mewled. He pushed deeper, then began an in and out motion. “I know you like this. Don’t you?”
“Yes,” she breathed out, unable to deny the pleasure.
“You’re special, Tyree. I wouldn’t be in your bed otherwise, doing these things to you. I’d have stolen a pod and left long ago, if I didn’t want to be here.”
“And I’d have tracked you down.”
“I know. But I still would have tried to get away.”
“So much for owing my brother.”
“I only promised him that I’d board and check out the situation, then make my final decision.” He pulled out his finger and rolled her over onto her back. “Now, I want to make love to you, Tyree. Soft and real slow this time.”
The sincere look in his eyes had her believing him. And her heart and emotions turned to mush. She just hoped she wouldn’t come to regret giving her trust to a man she barely knew—a Cyborg. Not only was her career on the line but her crew’s safety, as well as her own, could be in jeopardy if his presence were discovered or, worse…if his circuits became compromised and he went berserk, like so many Cyborgs in the past.

Chapter Five

Tyree slapped Adam’s hand as he reached for her ass. “Stop it.” She yanked down the cotton shirt she wore, which barely covered her nakedness. She should have grabbed her robe when she slid out of bed earlier, at least until she finished with her business. She flipped on the intercom on the side table. “Corporal Pratt?”
    “Yes, Captain.”
“I won’t be up on the command deck for most of the day. Don’t disturb me unless there’s an emergency.”
After a brief hesitation, Pratt asked, “Is there a problem, Captain?”
Her crew was well-trained and knew this behavior odd for her. “No, I’m just not feeling up to it.” Okay, she lied, sort of. She didn’t feel up to working but not because she felt sick.
She again slapped at Adam’s wandering hands. The man never got enough. She would be upset, but his hunger translated to her pleasure. She grinned at the memory of their recent heated, sexual encounters.
“Do you want me to send Dr. Roiya down to see you?” Pratt asked.
“No. It’s not that serious. I’ll be up later.”
    “Very well, Captain.”
Tyree flipped off the intercom, then spun around. She forced the smile from her face. “Can you not feel me up while I’m talking to the crew?”
Adam chuckled and wrapped his arms around her waist. “You love it.”
“Don’t be so cocky, or I’ll have to exert my authority.”
    “Ooo, baby.”
Unable to maintain her serious façade, she laughed at his playful tone. “Eat your sweet pocket.” She nodded toward the desk where breakfast waited.
“I’d rather eat your sweet pocket,” he whispered suggestively in her ear.
She smacked his arm. “That is so terrible. Everyone probably realizes why I’m staying in my quarters, you know.”
    “Do you really care?”
She didn’t hesitate in her response. “No, actually, I don’t. But we do need to talk about things, Adam.”
“Later.” He tightened his hold on her and nibbled at her lips.
She pushed at his chest. “Now! Stop distracting me.”
With a sigh, he released her and walked over to the desk. He plopped down in a chair and took a bite of the fruit-filled sweet. “What’s to talk about? You know I’m Cyborg. You’re not going to turn me in. I’m here as your personal security bot…and eroti-bot, as far as the crew is concerned. And that’s that.”
“How can you be so unconcerned about the danger this presents to all of us? I have a lot of questions for you. There are still things I don’t understand.”
“There’s no danger as long as you don’t say anything. If I ever think you or your crew is in jeopardy because of me, I’ll be out of here. The authorities won’t be able to find me. And you shouldn’t try either. I’ll make sure you’re not implicated in any way. I won’t endanger anyone,
