okay, go handle your business. I’ll be fine here,” I said looking into his gorgeous blue eyes as if I was in a trance. Dennis turns his head to Anastasia, who was staring at us with her mouth open. Oh shit, I totally forgot that she was here.
“Hi, I’m Dennis,” he said offering her his hand.
“A-Anastasia,” she said shaking his hand. Dennis nodded and turned back to me.
“I’ll meet you at the ball in an hour; Dillon will take you there, okay?”
“Alright ,” I said and he smiled while grabbing my hand and then kissed my knuckles. He got up and walked away as both Anastasia and I stared after him. I turned my attention back to her and she gave me a scornful look and I shrugged. “I forgot to say that he’s also my boyfriend,” I added as she shook her head in disbelief.
“You could ha ve given a girl a little warning you know,” she said and started laughing hysterically. “I mean damn, I totally made an ass of myself,” she added.
    “Sorry .”
“O h no hun, don’t apologize. I just wonder how you were able to keep from scratching my eyes out. Then again if you did that to every girl that swooned over him we’d all be blind,” she added as I nodded sadly. Even though he always made me feel like I was the only woman in the world, I wasn’t. And I knew in the back of my mind that any woman would kill for a chance to be with him. “Aw hun, I didn’t mean to make you feel insecure. Sure we all want him but it doesn’t matter because he’s so in love with you.” I looked at her and thought about what she said. Yeah, every woman alive would give their right arm just to sleep with him but he has eyes only for me, well I hope he does. “It actually hurts my self-esteem,” she added and I smiled at her kindness.
“You th ink so?” I asked and she nodded.
“Yeah he’s not going anywhere, besides the two of you make sense together .”
“Make sense?” I asked , a little baffled at her statement.
“Yeah, I mean the both of you are drop-dead gorgeous,” she said and continued. “Damn, I would love to see what your kids would look like, they would just be…wow!” She stated.
I blushed; she couldn’t be serio us. I knew I was decent looking but not drop-dead gorgeous, but I couldn’t deny that Dennis was. I’ve always wanted to have kids one day, but there was something about having Dennis’s baby that made my heart race every time I thought about it. For a split second I let my mind wander as I imagined myself holding a little baby boy in my arms and he looked exactly like his father. I sighed as Anastasia laughed at the expression I had on my face then stood up.
“ Okay, enough daydreaming. I’m going to the salon to get my hair done.” She glanced down at her watch. “Since the ball is going to start in about an hour or so I gotta run. Hey, you want to come with me?” She asked and I shook my head. She then gave me a skeptical look. “You weren’t going to do your own hair and make-up were you?” She asked again. Yes I thought to myself, but I knew better. This was a fancy event that needed an extravagant look.
    “No .”
“Then come on, let’s do this,” she said and I gathered my things and left with her.

I rushed back to the hotel to get dressed after being at the salon with Anastasia for over an hour. Dennis said to meet him at the ball in an hour but my hair and make-up at the salon ran a little late. I pulled out my blue gown and pulled it over my head with extra caution not to mess up my hair. I had to admit that the hairstylist did a magnificent job with my hair, it was elegant but yet simple which I like, it totally suited me. This event seemed reminiscent to my birthday party, just that now I knew why I was actually getting dressing up. I laughed to myself as I finished up. I grabbed my clutch bag then took a moment to look at myself in the mirror. Becca and Pam would be proud of me I thought to myself, as I looked myself over in the mirror, I
