hot, white lights are erupting. Thrusting deeper into me than I think he has
ever been, Ian shouts my name. His big, hard body jerks again and again with
the force of the release that seizes us both.
Hot jets of his come spurt into me over and over, washing
away every thought, every fear, leaving only the rawness of our passion and my
all-consuming love for him. Still in the grip of shared orgasm, we collapse
together onto the floor.

Sometime later, I stir to the gentle touch of fingers
stroking my cheek. Opening my eyes, I find my husband gazing at me with
consummate tenderness shadowed by concern.
“Too much?” he asks, his brow furrowed.
Before I can stop myself, an unladylike snort escapes from
between lips swollen by his savage kisses. “Not for me but if it was for you--”
He throws back his head and laughs. “Are you kidding? Apart
from the fact that I’ll never be able to take you to a dance club without
getting a raging hard-on-- I probably couldn’t have done that anyway. But I
thought this was--” He breaks off, at a loss for words to adequately describe
what we’ve just experienced.
“Astounding?” I suggest. I can’t stop smiling. Being with
him like this--so honest, so free--fills me with joy and gratitude. “Mind
blowing? So good that it’s amazing it isn’t illegal?”
“All of that and more. You are--” I flush under the heat of
his gaze. He doesn’t have to tell me how utterly wanton I was. Nor do I have
any doubt how much he enjoys me this way.
“You are more than I could ever have dreamed of,” he says
and kisses me with tender passion.
When we finally draw apart, Ian sighs. “I suppose we should
at least try to get up.”
I burrow down more comfortably on the floor of the cage.
“You first.”
He laughs and gets to his feet with what I can only think is
remarkable stamina. Too sated to move, I stare appreciatively up the long
length of his superb body as he adjusts his jeans.
“If you’re trying to impress me,” I murmur, “you really
don’t need to bother. I’m a given where you’re concerned.”
His smile broadens. He bends down and sweeps me up into his
arms. “And I with you, sweetheart.” Cradling me close, he steps from the
simulator and carries me from the so-aptly-named Cabinet of Secret Delights. He
doesn’t pause until we reach the bathroom.
Having set me down on a padded bench, Ian presses a button
on the side of the large tub. It begins filling with steaming water scented
with citrus and eucalyptus. Swiftly, he strips us both. I wince a little as I
get into the bath, then laugh when he joins me and does the same.
“Do you think we may have overdone just a little?” I ask,
confident of his answer.
“Perish the thought, woman.” With a devilish grin, he
gathers me to him. “Besides, that was just the first scenario. From what I saw
on the controls, a couple of hundred more are pre-programmed in. Of course, we
can also add our own.”
    My mind reels. “Of course--”
“Where would you like to go next?” asks the man who is at
once my dark prince of sensual delights and the husband with whom I have found
the truest and most fulfilling love.
Brushing my lips over the broad span of his shoulder and
down his sculpted chest, I come to rest over the strong, steady beat of his
heart. A deep, abiding sense of contentment fills me. Nothing in all the world will
ever make me happier than simply being with him.
Still, I ponder his question, considering the possibilities,
all that awaits us not merely in the hidden room but here in the palazzo where
we met, in the city to which we must inevitably return, and beyond, through all
the years to come.
I don’t underestimate the challenges that we will face but
far from being intimidating, they fill me with excitement and hope. My trust in
Ian is such that I have absolute faith in our ability to face anything
together. Where he goes, I will go, joyfully.
Gazing up at my husband, I
