Milk Duds, popcorn and water. We’re all set for movie night.” He started to walk in, and she stepped aside. It was his philosophy that you never got what you wanted in this world unless you were willing to go for it 100%, and he’d finally found something he wanted.
He set the bag down on the bed. “Are you ready for the movie?”
She looked at him and found she couldn’t resist the hopeful look in his eyes. “I guess so.”
She watched as he pulled off the nasty bedspread and put it in the corner of the room. He then went to the closet and got the extra pillows and arranged everything. He lay down on the bed and opened his computer. Cary came over to the bed and sat down. “Are you comfortable? Anything else you need?”
“No, I’m good. Let me find a Bond movie.” He leaned forward and dropped a quick kiss on her mouth. “Do you want to make the popcorn?”
“Sure, let me do that.” She went over to the microwave in the kitchenette and put the popcorn in and waited. She knew she wanted her life to change, but wasn’t quite sure if this was the change she had in mind. She was in a very small town in the middle of the high desert waiting for her car to be repaired, having a movie night with a very sexy semi-stranger. Maybe when she was dreaming about the changes she should’ve been more specific. Though she couldn’t have come up with this scenario in her wildest dreams, she wasn’t wholly unhappy with the situation. She glanced over to the bed and admired the very sexy man who was lying there. Men like him were never were attracted to women like her. Maybe it was because he was at a loose end. She couldn’t come up with another explanation for his interest. She dumped the popcorn into a bowl, grabbed some napkins and went back to bed.
He found a movie, and it was starting to download. “We’re ready.” He scooted back against the headboard and moved close to her. He put the laptop on his lap and wrapped his arm around her shoulder. “Can you pass me the Milk Duds? I want to add them to the popcorn.” She passed them over, and he shook some into the bowl and smiled at her. “I haven’t been on a movie date since high school, so I may try to feel you up later on.”
“Good to know. Thanks for the warning.” At that point, there was nothing else to do but surrender to the moment. This was never going to happen to her again, and she might as well enjoy it. Travis was a big, sexy man, and she should take advantage of the situation.
Halfway through the movie, he looked down, and Cary had fallen asleep on his chest. He slipped his hand out of her top and gently moved her hand from his shirt. He rolled her over gently so she wouldn’t wake up. He got up, locked the door and turned off the lights. He slipped off his T-shirt and pants and decided he was going to be as comfortable as he could. He hadn’t slept through the night in over three months, and he was looking forward to getting some rest. Sleeping next to a soft, sexy woman was like winning the lottery for him. He slipped into bed and wrapped himself around her as he slipped his hand under her top and felt himself instantly drift off.

CHAPTER FIVE

Fifteen years in the military had taught him to wake instantly. His eyes popped open, and he could see that it was still dark outside. He glanced at his watch and saw it was close to five in the morning. He had slept for over six hours and felt like a new man. He was also a man who was experiencing the effects of having a woman wrapped around him with her hand down his boxers. Good morning, Cary. I had no idea that you were a woman who liked a man’s ass. She was glued to the front of him with her hand on his butt. He wasn’t totally innocent, though, because he had his hand up her top.
Leaning down, he kissed the top of her head and inhaled her scent. He moved his hand and let his thumb run over her nipple, and felt it harden against his fingers. He heard a small moan escape
