Sparkle Spa. âWhatâs happening in here?â she asked.
âSuzy Davis stole our party!â Brooke told her. âAnd our customer records! And weâre going to get them back!â
âWhat?â Mom said, stepping into the spa.
âWe canât be one hundred percent sure about the customer files, but the whole soccer team is at herhouse,â Aly informed her mom. âSo weâre moving the party to Suzyâs. Can you take us?â
âSuzy came here to learn how to run a business and then tried to take over yours?â Mom did not look happy. âOh, I can take you, all right,â she said. âAnd Iâm going to have a talk with Suzyâs mother when we get there.â
The girls marched out of the salon with Mrs. Tanner leading the way. âJoan, I need you to rearrange the schedule so my next two appointments are taken care of,â she said. âThe girls and I have some important business to attend to right away.â
âIs everything okay?â Joan asked.
âIt will be,â Mom said. âLetâs go, girls.â
They all squished into Momâs car with cookies and streamers and backdrops on their laps.
Suzy Davis had totally taken the Sparkle Spa by surprise.
Now it was time to surprise Suzy.

M om parked the car in the Davisesâ driveway and headed straight for the front door.
âWhoa,â Brooke said. âThis house is enormous.â
Aly stopped to look. Wow. It was huge. Aly counted three floors. To the side of the house, it looked like there was a tennis court with the pool behind that.
âTheyâre here!â Aly heard Jenica call from the backyard, and then Maxie and Joelle came running around the side of the house to greet them.
âWhat color polishes did you bring? Did you remember Under the Sea?â Maxie asked excitedly.
âWe want the most partyish polishes you have,â Joelle added.
âWe brought a bunch,â Aly said. âBut we need to get set up first. Whereâs Suzy?â
âIn the kitchen, I think,â Joelle said. âThe pizza came just before you did.â
âThanks,â Aly said. âWeâll let you know when everythingâs ready.â
Aly headed into the house with Brooke, Charlotte, and Lily behind her. The door was open, so she walked right in and found her mom having a conversation with Suzyâs mom in the front hall.
âI had no idea,â Suzyâs mom was saying. âIâm so sorry. Iâll talk to her.â
âIâd appreciate that, Carolyn. You know how hard it is for women in business. Weâre supposed to sticktogether, not undermine each other. Iâve taught my girls about teamwork.â
âIâll talk to her,â Suzyâs mom said again.
âIâm so tempted to take my daughters and their friendsâand their customersâback to the salon,â Mrs. Tanner continued, âbut they seem to be having fun here, so Iâll let them stay. But if Suzy doesnât hand over their customer files today, I donât think I want her back at the salon. At least not for a while.â
Mom turned around then and saw the girls standing there. âIâll be back for you in a few hours,â she said. âMake this party great.â
An embarrassed look crossed Suzyâs momâs face. âThe kitchenâs that way,â she said to the girls, pointing. âPlease tell Suzy I need to see her out here.â
âThanks, Mrs. Washington,â Aly answered. âWe will.â
Suzy squealed when Brooke and Aly entered thekitchen. âIsnât this great? Everyoneâs having the best time! Thanks for sending over the pizza. I had to pay for it from my allowance, so if you have the money . . .â
âYour mom wants to see you out there,â Brooke said, pointing a thumb toward the hallway.
