scrap book on top of my

calendar, she intentionally jabbed her elbow into my

nuts so I couldn’t move. “There are some things in this

book you need to see. No interruptions until the end

please.”

Nodding to agree while holding my jewels, I watched as

she flipped through the pages of a photo-album of
strictly Samantha and myself. It started off with a page

dedicated to Emily finding out about being pregnant.

The woman went so far as to keeping the first stick she

peed on with the positive result.

Emily’s slideshow went on to show me everything in

Sammy’s life that I had been there to witness. A silent

bystander who stood alone at a distance most of the

time, but still there. I smiled at seeing Samantha in

those cheerleading uniforms I loved so much. They were

my favorite.

The last page was the one that caught my attention the

most. Similar to the first one, it too had a pee-stick

attached to it with a positive result. Ultrasound pictures

surrounded the outside of the page while a piece of white

paper lay perfectly straight in the center. The paper had

obviously been trimmed to fit the page. I had to squint a

little to read the print.

Collin W. Utley-99.9% Paternal Match , Positive.
Gabriel A. Utley-0.0%, Paternal Match, Negative .

Emily closed the book. “Are there any questions

regarding what you saw?”

Our eyes met when she peered back at me. “Does the last

page have any truth to it?”

“Ninety-nine point nine percent truth.” She told me with

a little smirk. “You are my granddaughter’s father and

she needs her daddy in her life. Samantha should’ve

been the one to break this news to you, but she is so

damn stubborn. She gets it from her father.”

I couldn’t find the words to speak as I sat there, staring

at my favorite photo of me and Sammy placed on my

desk. For the first time in so long, I had been completely

motionless.
She took my face into her hands and kindly smiled.

“Collin, I didn’t come here just to tell you about your

daughter…you should know that Sammy is miserable

without you. After Matthew confronted Gabriel,

Samantha truly started to realize how much she has hurt

you. Please…as a favor to me…go talk to her. I’m not

saying go back to her, but just go talk to her. It will help

put her mind at ease.”

Before either of us could say another word, my newest

girl Bambi was getting ready to put on a private show for

me through the other side of the gigantic glass that

separated my office from the showroom floor.

Emily looked up just in time to see the sexy female in

her get-up. “Who in the hell is that Collin?!” her fist

balling up and hitting me in the crotch.

I gasped for air, thankful she had no idea who the girl

was. We watched her dance on the pole with her
masquerade mask on. Her red heels were gorgeous as

she skillfully danced.

“Please tell me that is NOT who I think it is!” She

shouted, smacking me a few times before standing and

darting out of the room.

I followed her out, stopping just before the entrance of

the private room Erin had been in. She turned to look at

me and I flinched in anticipation, fearful of her hitting

me again.

“Go. Leave me alone to talk to my daughter. You and I

will discuss your punishment later.” She dismissed me

with a wave of her hand.

with my hands. Tonight, we decided to use our fake IDs
at some bar far away from home and just hang out.
While Jesse mingled with a few females, impressing
them with his smart-ass doctor talk, I couldn’t get
Gabriel’s request out of my head. He wanted me to
