glanced around and felt his face flush. He’d spent too much time thinking about their last meeting, but when privacy allowed, those thoughts ended with him taking himself in hand and scrupulously avoiding his ass. “A bit.”
    “Liar.”
Sonny’s tone was as hard to read as the rest of him. There was no accusation and for once no hint of mocking, but the single word felt loaded with heat.
Levi stared him down, shifting the grocery bag from one arm to the other, but Sonny was unfazed, like they met up like this all the time. Levi let out a growly whoosh of air. “Damn it. What the fuck do you want ?”
Sonny raised an eyebrow. “Dude, I was saying hello. You’re the one with a bug in his ass.”
The pun made Sonny laugh, but Levi was less than amused. “All right, kid. You’ve made your point, okay? I’m beat. I’m going home.”
He started to turn away, but Sonny caught his arm. “You can’t ignore this. I told you before, it’s gonna rip you up if you’re not ready.”
Levi waited for a couple of pedestrians to pass before he wrenched his arm from Sonny’s grasp. “I’m not ignoring it. I just don’t want to get into it on the fuckin’ street.”
Sonny shrugged, the gesture benign and casual. Then he moved like a snake, shoving Levi and catching him off balance. Levi stumbled backward and collided with the side of a building, and before he could recover, Sonny grabbed his hand and pulled him into a darkly shadowed alleyway.
Levi was taller than Sonny, and heavier. He could’ve put him down with a flick of his wrist, but for some reason he couldn’t bring himself to fight back. He leaned on the bricks behind him and glared at Sonny. “You gonna make me fuck myself right here, right now?”
Sonny stood, relaxed and passive, his arms folded across his chest. “What if I did? Think you could do it? How do you think it would feel to ram dry fingers inside yourself? Think about it, Levi. Think about the burn and the sensation of being torn apart, ’cause that’s how it’s gonna feel if you don’t hear what I’m saying.”
Levi stared at him, his breathing hitched and his dick uncomfortably hard in his jeans. He heard Sonny loud and clear. How could he not? Sonny had been saying the same thing since they’d crossed paths in Jon’s office. It was a warning, nothing more, so why the damned boner? Why did he want to punch Sonny in the face? And why did he want nothing more than to kiss the ever-loving shit out of him?
“Fine.” The word came out as a growl. “Have it your fuckin’ way. You wanna do this? Let’s do it.”
Sonny shrugged again, and a hint of a smirk ghosted over his features. “Lead the way.”
Levi stomped home with Sonny in tow. Once inside his apartment, he dropped the grocery bag on the kitchen counter and pulled his shirt over his head. He left the rest of his clothes littering the hardwood floor and walked naked to the bathroom without looking to see if Sonny followed.
He opened the bathroom cabinet, searching for lube. Sonny appeared in the mirror behind him, shirtless and waving the same bottle they’d used before. “Not in here. Let’s change it up.”
Change it up . Those words would haunt Levi to an early grave. He shut the cabinet with a bang and twisted to face Sonny. “Where?”
“The couch. You should be comfortable, and this time I want you to look at me.”
Sonny turned on his heel and walked away. Levi followed him back to the living room and saw his bag of tricks already spread out on the coffee table. “What, do you, like, carry that crap around with you?”
Sonny snorted and tossed the lube down. “Maybe, or maybe I was on my way here when you stepped out of the store looking all frustrated and shit.”
    “I’m not frustrated.”
    “We’ll see. Sit.”
Levi didn’t move. His dick was still half-hard from whatever had passed between them in the alleyway, but there was still a part of him—a fading, mutinous part—that couldn’t
