Kaleigh turns and drops her cup of tea, and I watch the cup shatter in a hundred pieces.
“What in the bloody hell, Cam? Are you stupid? You can’t bring her in here! The Old Ones will know and come for us all.”
“I don’t care, Kaleigh.” I feel my face harden as I stare her. “You have some explaining to do.” After I see her wince, I turn back to Cordelia. “Hey Cordelia, why don’t you go down the hall to the 3 rd door on the left; it’s the spare room; you can stay there? There is a bathroom across the hall from the room. Go there and get settled in. I need a word with my sister.”
She hesitates, but starts down the hall with her things. As soon as she is out of sight, Kaleigh starts to talk. “Cam…”
I cut her off, angry that tears start to roll down my cheeks. “Don’t you start with me! What is this I hear about our parents? Is she the reason why they died like that?”
“Cam, please sit down and let me explain it all to you.” She shakes her head. “I can’t believe she told you.”
                  “I’m glad she did.”
Kaleigh sighs and rubs the palm of her hand across the back of her neck. “Cam, I wanted to protect you; you were so young when it happened. They wanted to help protect her from Amelia. Amelia turned to the dark side and was upset because she found out from a source that Cordelia was alive. Dean lied and said Cordelia died at birth. The reason was Amelia was already converting to the dark side. Dean wanted to keep his daughter safe, because he had no idea what her powers would be. He asked our parents to help keep the secret. They said yes. I believe there is someone on the white side helping Amelia with this information.”
“Abem,” I say, cutting her off. “I saw Amelia tonight, trying to kill Cordelia, and she said his name.”
“Wait, the head council of The Old Ones?”
“Yes, that was the name she said.”
She starts to pace around the kitchen. “Oh. My. Goddess.  I can’t believe this. He is not to take sides. I wonder if he wants Cordelia dead too, or maybe us as well. This will end ugly.”
“Well, in my opinion, they can have her. She is the reason my mother and father are dead, and also the reason I am cursed for eternity.” I stand up and the chair hits the floor.
                  “Cameron, you don’t mean that.”
“Yes, I do,” I say, completely deadpanned.
“Cam, please calm down. They are afraid of what she might be.”
I am now pissed she is taking sides. “I saw her use her force field tonight. She is a witch. She can protect her own damn self. I am going to bed. Please have her out of this house by morning.” With that, I storm out of the kitchen to my room and slam the door. How can I have feelings for a girl who is the reason my family was ripped apart?

Chapter Ten
    Cordelia
I f ind the room, and I am surprised when I walk in and see the breath taking décor. The bed had to be a king size; a blue quilt, huge fluffy pillows, and blue pillow cases adorn it. I wish I could live in this room forever. I sit on the bed and lay back to think about my day. I look at the alarm clock; 11:47pm. Wow, I think, it’s late. I need to get some rest, so I can endure another tortuous day in hell… I mean, school. I get up and open my suitcase, grabbing my pajamas. I put them on and climb under the blanket. The bed feels so great; if I die in this bed tonight, I would die a happy girl. My eyes drift closed.
I am running through a dark forest, the fire so intense I can practically feel the heat on my back.
“No one is here to save you now , Cordelia; you have nowhere to run.” I look back to
