âDonât you worry.â Rosy called to her older sister as she started work on a new shawl for her, âHave you found the stack of clothes Tink laid out for her?â
âI have!â called Clara. âWhat an odd assortment she chose, though,â she said to herself. âNone of Goldieâs old things, and hardly any of Rosyâs or mine. Theyâre all bits and pieces from our old play chest. What was Tink thinking?â
Sylva, Goldie, Rosy, and Squeak had just laid their heads on their pillows when a shriek came from Clara downstairs, followed by a great peal of laughter from baby Noel.
âClara! What is it? Is everything all right?â
âOh my golly,â said Clara. âI think Iâve found that last surprise Tink said weâd discover.â
That was enough to get everyone out of bed. The sisters flew down the stairs, Squeak leading the way.
âWhat is it?â asked Goldie. âWhatâs the surprise? More presents?â Even Goldie didnât think she could take any more.
âAnother baby?â Rosy was only half-kidding.
âAnother kitten?â asked Sylva. âOr a puppy?â
âIâve got news for you,â said Clara as she came back with baby Noel freshly cleaned and changed in her arms. âOur new fairy sister . . . is a boy.â

W hen theyâd stopped exclaiming and wondering and laughing, the Fairy Bell sisters headed to bed, with Squeak sleeping on a spare mattress on Sylvaâs floor and their new baby brother fairy taking Squeakâs place in the crib in the great room.
âWeâll love this little fairy no matter what,â said Rosy.
âBoy oh boy, is everyone going to be very surprised,â said Sylva.
âBoy oh boy is right!â said Goldie.
âWe just need to give him love and care and a happy home,â said Clara.
âThatâs what all little ones need,â said Rosy. âThatâs the recipe for a happyââ
âBaby,â said Squeak.
And they went to bed that Christmas night, dreaming of Tinker Bell and Christmas magic and new fairy babies, and all the adventures that lay ahead of them.

How to Make Fairy Bell Holiday Punch
T he secret of a perfect party? Perfect punch! Hereâs what the Fairy Bell sisters serve when theyâre expecting a big crowd. (Ask a grown-up to help.)
1Â Â Â quart fairy apple cider made from Sheepskerry apples *
1Â Â Â cup cranberry juice from fairy cranberry bogs *
2Â Â Â cups chilled fairy ginger ale from the shops on the mainland *
A little lemon juice (fairy or non-fairyâyour choice)
Combine the cider, the cranberry juice, and the lemon juice in a large bowl. Chill on the back porch of your fairy house or in a refrigerator. When the mixture is nice and cold, add the ginger ale, stir, and serve to fairy friends.
Try adding some orange or apple slices to make your punch especially pretty.
Deck the Fairy Halls
Fast away the old year passes,
Fa-la-la-la-la, la-la-la-la.
Hail the new, ye fairy lasses,
Fa-la-la-la-la, la-la-la-la.
Sing we joyous, all together,
Fa-la-la, la-la-la, la-la-la.
Heedless of the wind and weather,
Fa-la-la-la-la, la-la-la-la.
