before done while under the influence of desire, harder to bear in the light of day, especially for someone like Deena, who cared too much about what others thought of her. Actually, that wasn’t quite accurate. She feared appearing weak.
However, she couldn’t change the fact she’d mated with them, their bite marks on each side of her neck, a visible proclamation to all that she belonged to them. Their own marks resided over their hearts, hidden by their shirts, and Simon wished he could tear his clothing off and flaunt to the world that yes, she’d chosen them, that from this day forth, they would stick together.
Breakfast was served buffet style. They insisted Deena seat herself while they fetched her some sustenance, a courtly gesture that brought a blush to her cheeks. Drumming her fingers on the table, she tried to pretend interest in anything but her new mates, which Simon found so endearing. As they loaded up plates, he and Frank talked with others in line, including some of the local wolves who were looking for someone this morning. There would be a shotgun wedding before the day was out, and Simon found it hard to restrain his grin at the lucky groom.
Plates laden with food, they wished the timber wolves luck with their hunt. He and Frank seated themselves with their woman and Simon couldn’t help hearing the speculative gossip.
“ …oh my god, she was claimed by two guys.”
“Damn, I’d have liked to have seen what they were up to last night.”
    “Slut.”
That growled insult had both Simon and Frank whirling to see if they could spot the speaker, but the hum of voices made it impossible.
“Don’t worry about it. I’ve been called much worse,” Deena said wryly before biting into her toast. “Just count yourselves lucky they’re too busy gossiping about me to worry about tearing into you two yet.”
“And what are they going to say?” Frank asked with an arched brow. “‘Lucky bastards’ comes to mind.”
Deena’s lips twitched as she fought a smile. “This won’t be easy.”
“We can handle it. It’s you we’re worried about. Are you okay with us being joined?”
“Kind of late to worry about that now isn’t it?” She sighed. “No, I’m not sorry about it. I just wish you didn’t have to put up with the shit that’s sure to arise. What if I’m not around to protect you?”
“Then we’ll protect ourselves,” Simon replied.
“And if we can’t, and we get hurt, then we’ll expect you to go and kick some ass,” Frank added with a naughty grin.
She couldn’t stop her laughter that time, a rich sound that rang out startling those nearest them. “Why is it I can see you intentionally getting in trouble just so I can save your geeky carcasses?”
“Because it’s hot when you get all alpha bitch,” Frank said with a smirk. “And even hotter when that same bad ass woman begs for my cock.”
Color rushed to her cheeks and she ducked her head, but she couldn’t hide the rising scent of her lust.
Simon growled softly. “Woman, you are some kind of sexy.”
“And for nerds, you’re awfully prone to dirty talk,” she said. “Now, enough getting me hot and bothered. Everyone’s getting ready for the eclipse run. We should find a spot to stash our clothes and shift.”
Simon stood and followed Deena, enjoying the view of her taut ass moving with animal grace in her tight jeans.
Fuck did he owe fate big time for bringing him together with this woman. Now if only he and Frank could put her final doubts to rest, then maybe she’d relax and let herself truly enjoy what she’d have with them.
    And let herself love us.

Showing up at breakfast, her new claimed status clear for all to see ended up easier than expected. The derision and insults she’d thought would surely rain down didn’t appear. Sure, she’d caught some of the ribald comments, but nothing worse than any other claiming earned.
Would everything work out like Simon and Frank seemed to
