coming to the club, and itâs my first semester at Freedom. I transferred from Christian Brothers.â Lynn smiled at Cooley, who tried to keep her cool face on. âI didnât know you were the head stud around here.â Lynn laughed.
âHa, ha, ha, very funny. Iâm not the head of anything, Iâm just Cool. So what are you getting into after the club?â Cooley looked Lynn in her eyes again. It made them weak. She could see it was working on Lynn.
âNothing. Just going back to my room, unless I find something else to get into.â Lynn gave Cooley a seductive grin.
Cooley licked her lips. âI think I have something we can do. Watch a movie or something. Let me grab my things, and we can head out.â Cooley headed to the dressing room. Suddenly her night was taking a turn for the better.

Carmen scanned the crowd, looking for Nic. She noticed her standing at the bar. Carmenâs heart dropped when she saw Nic talking to Jamela. She quickly began to make her way to the bar.
âSo, your show was off the chain,â Jamela said to Nic.
âThank you. Thanks for the tips,â Nic said. She hoped the bartender would quickly give her the drinks she ordered.
âSo, whatâs up with you anyway, Nic?â Jamela batted her fake eyelashes. âWhatâs a girl got to do to get to know you a little better?â
âNow you know I got a woman,â Nic said, handing the bartender the money.
âSo, you canât have friends?â Jamela batted her fake eyelashes.
âI already got those too. But thanks.â
âJamela, what the fuck do you think you doinâ?â Carmen said as she jumped in front of Nic.
âCarmen, chill.â Nic attempted to grab Carmenâs arm, but she jerked away.
âWhat you mean? I think Iâm talking.â
âBitch, donât make me hurt you. You know Nic is mine and if you come by her again, Iâm gonâ beat you worse than Teka did,â Carmen threatened.
Last year a girl named Teka had attacked Jamela for sleeping with her girlfriend. Teka beat her and pulled all her clothes off of her in the middle of the parking lot. Jamela had to run to her car naked.
âWhatever, bitch,â Jamela retorted.
Carmen began to swing, but Nic grabbed her hand.
âCome on, letâs go!â Nic said in a stern voice as she pulled Carmen away.
âCarmen, what the fuck is wrong with you?â Nic asked as they drove home.
âWhat you mean, whatâs wrong with me? What the fuck is wrong with you, all up in her grill and shit!â
âCarmen, I can handle my own shit. You donât even know what I was saying. Why you trying to go off? Before you tried to jump bad, I had just told her that I had a girl.â
âShe donât care. She was gonâ try you anyway.â
âShe can try all she want to. That donât mean I am going to let her. Shit, Carmen, you ainât got to worry about these scandalous bitches out here. Iâm with who I want to be with.â
âButââ
âThere isnât any buts to it. Carmen, you canât try to fight every girl that tries to talk to me, just like I canât try to fight every girl that tries to get with you. I know you arenât going anywhere.â
âAnd you know girls not gonâ try to talk to me like they try to get with you.â Carmen fought to hold back her tears.
âCarmen, please, that isnât the point. The point is that I donât want any of them. I got who I want. You gonâ have to get up off that jealousy shit.â
Carmen fell silent. She knew Nic was right. She didnât know how to react to those situations. âI just donât want to loose you.â
âYou arenât going to.â Nic kissed her hand. âWitâ yoâ crazy ass.â
They both laughed.
âI love you, shorty.â
âLove you too.â Carmen smiled,
