Cravr. We will be happy here.” Annie was sure of it.
“Now that you’ve looked around, it’s time to talk then mate, Gorgeous.”
“Talk? Don’t I know everything now?”
“No, there’s one more thing to share. My people aren’t just as they appear. We have another form we can take?”
“Are you talking spiritually?”
“No, Sweetheart. I mean we can literally and physically change into something else.”
“But that’s not possible!”
“I assure you it is.”
“What do you turn into?”
“We call them demons, but not because they are. It’s what our enemies called our other form in primitive times. They are large primitive beasts, but I promise you, we are in control and he would never hurt you or anyone he loves. I planned to tell you in the Temple, but after I drank that potion, all I could think about was our mating.”
“I don’t know what to say. I’ve read about werewolves and similar things in the supernatural world, but I admit, I never believed in them. It’s hard to believe now.”
“You want me to show you.” It was a statement not a question.
Promise you won’t scream or run? He’s a predator and he might chase you. You could get hurt trying to escape.”
“Okay, I will stay right here.” Annie promised, but secretly she didn’t believe him. Even if it were true, how scary could he be? He’d admitted he would still be Cravr, he’d only look different.
The change was almost instantaneous and shocking. One second Cravr stood before her, the next second a huge creature was there. If she’d not looked in his eyes and still seen the love she knew Cravr felt for her, she would have bolted, assurances be damned. Cautiously stepping forward, she stroked his arm. A rumbling noise, not unlike a cat purring, broke free from his chest. Annie was an animal lover, she couldn’t help herself. They bonded instantly. Her immediate acceptance seemed to touch the massive being right away. A tear rolled down from one of his unusual eyes. The iris was black as coal, but rimmed in royal purple.
“You’re adorable.” She said and was rewarded with a growl. Apparently adorable wasn’t a word he appreciated.
Her mate changed back to his usual form just as fast. It was such a blur she didn’t see the details of the change. “You handled that well.” He praised.
Annie supposed she did, but Jorgr had mentioned something like that to her and Mimi, but they hadn’t believe him either. Even when their sister, Georgie, had confirmed it, they hadn’t truly accepted it. Seeing was the only way someone would trust that what they said was true. If she hadn’t already felt so committed to Cravr and envisioned the perfect future with him, could she have dealt with it as well? She would never know.
Cravr led her to the bedroom, it was nice, but simple with no frills. The bed was huge, larger than a king, but what did she expect? Cravr was naked in seconds and looking at her with passion and expectations. “You don’t need to cover up your attributes, Sweetheart. I want to see you in all your glory.”
Annie suddenly felt shy about undressing. Cravr was staring at her with a fever burning in his eyes and his beast was peeking out. She wanted this male, desperately. It was too the point where she worried he wouldn’t like what he saw and that she couldn’t satisfy him. Never before had that worried her, never before had that mattered so much.
“I can help you get out of all that clothing.” Cravr said, his voice deep with his demon’s influence.
“That’s okay.” Annie said as she pulled her shirt over her head dropping it carelessly on the ground. Having slipped out of her sandals at the door, she pushed her pants down, stepping out of them, then kicking them away.
Now she stood before him in just her matching hot pink bra and panties. Cravr looked like he wanted to gobble her up. It was both flattering and terrifying to her. Would that huge demon come out while they made love and
