think that makes it all okay then,” she challenged rubbing her stiff wrists and ankles.  “Will you ever be content to just go to bed and make love to me in a normal way , Matthew,” she asked him critically.
    Matthew shook his head and kissed her again.  “I doubt it – that’s not what I’m like and anyway vanilla isn’t your flavour either, Gina,” he told her knowingly.  “You need sex this way and you need it with me,” he added confidently.
    “ I don’t think so,” she insisted.  “I allow this – allow you to do these things to me because I’m .”  
    She bit back the words that were on the tip of her tongue just in time .  She had been about to say ‘that I’m in love with you’, but had held back at the last second.   “That I’m perfectly happy to have sex with you so there’s no need to tie me up . ”  Were what came out instead.  Admitting love or any caring emotion to Matthew Dark would probably just be a waste of time.
    “Yes I know you are, but I want to do this .  You don’t get it, do you ?   The truth is I get off on making a girl helpless , doing stuff to her while she can’t stop me and then screwing her hard .   You might find that disgusting or uncomfortable Gina – but it’s who I am. ”
    At that moment Matthew’s cell phone rang and leaning ac ross the bench he picked it up and answered it.  He rose and pulled his shorts back on and then paced up and down the floor talking quietly to whoever it was.  His face was serious and his tone hard – trouble, Gina decided and shivered.  This time , thankfully, it had nothing to do with her.
 
     

Chapter 6
     
    Matthew was missing that afternoon.  Once she’d showered and changed Conrad delivered a message from him in his usual courteous way.
    “Mr Dark had business to see to in Genoa ,” he told her.  “He does expect to be back for dinner though.  He suggests that I drive you into Portofino and that perhaps you do a little shopping.”
    It was only ten minutes walk into town so she certainly didn’t need a lift.  But perhaps Matthew still didn’t trust her – didn’t want to leav e her to her own devices all afternoon.
    “Mr Dark has left his credit card and instructions for you to purchase anything you might like,” he coughed.  “If that sounds agreeable, Miss, then I am to accompany you.”
    Her instincts were right – he didn’t trust her.  Conrad was nothing more than some sort of gaoler – credit card or no credit card.
    “I’m just going to sit in the sun, work on my tan thanks,” she smiled.  “So no need to hang around waiting for me,” she told him.
    “As you wish, Miss, but I’m here should you need anything.”
    With that Conrad left and investigating a few minutes later Gina heard him in the garage outside tinkering under the bonnet of one of Matthew’s cars.
    It would be a long afternoon without him but perhaps it was her opportunity to look a little closer at her surroundings and think again about that escape plan.  She was just about to wander around the garden when she heard a female voice call out.
    “Matthew.  Matthew,” the voice called.  “Are you here, darling?”
    The voice was deep, Italian and the hairs on the back of Gina’s neck prickled as she realised who it was and just moments before Lisa teetered into the sitting room dressed to kill and in yet more ultra high heels.
    “Ah, the English Miss,” she said giving Gina a distinct ly chilly smile.  “So he did bring you here – I thought as much ?   That confirms that you’re nothing more than chamber fodder to him.  Am I right?”  She beamed knowingly. 
    Gina was stunned - she’d no idea what to say in reply.  After all, her attitude might stink but the woman was right.
    “So you are his new sub – well I’m not surprised.  When I saw you the night of Benito’s birthday I could see you were the type he likes to play with in that way.”
    Then s he swept off through the villa
