knew every time it happened, Sara. The man is
a selfish bastard and you’re better off without him.”
No, Ridge , I’m not better off without him, but it
doesn’t matter, does it, because he’s getting married.
“But you know the worst thing that could happen? He is still
going to expect a blowjob from you even though he is married and that is what
we are not standing for. No fucking way,” Ridge continued, broadcasting my
worst fear. Not that Danny would think our parasitic relationship should change
because of his marriage but that I’d have no willpower to refuse him in spite
of it.
“There is a solution, a sound solution that will make you
see how much better you deserve than him. It’s about getting even.”
Getting even? Was Alan thinking what I was thinking?
Assassinate the bride and kidnap the bridegroom to be my slave?
“And the only way to get even is to double your game play,
do it twice as hard. The only proper way to get even is to do it with two.”
I wasn’t following Ridge’s math and I’m pretty good with
numbers. My brows met in the center of my forehead. What were they on about?
“Come do a gig with us.” Alan’s hand slid over my shoulder,
his fingers kneaded the knots at my nape, coaxing me to relax but really
sending my nerves on an uncharted course.
“You know you’ll be safe with us.” Ridge’s hand joined
Alan’s. Surely I was dreaming this up. I sucked up my sniffles, stepped away,
folded my arms and stared at my friends.
“You’re not serious?”
“We’re dead serious.”
“Right, of course, you are. But let me get this straight.
You want to place me in front of a select clientele in a private mansion, in a
pair of glittering panties only to have said pair of glittering panties removed
by…both of you, in front of said select clientele. Is that truly the answer to
all my problems?”
“Yes!”
I offered Ridge a look of exasperation as reply to his
enthusiastic “yes”. Okay, I had enough I decided so I dropped my arms, tossed
my bad hair back, reached for a cinnamon bun and snorted before I took a big
bite. I had pity party nirvana status to achieve.
“I can’t believe you guys would choose a time like this to
tease me,” I muttered around the bun in my mouth. Do a gig with them? Were
they crazy? While Alan and Ridge could not be more different in personalities,
they shared the same intense interest in sexual exhibitionism and had done
shows for five years already. Sure, they joked about me joining them. I just
never took them seriously and I’m sure they weren’t either. Besides, if I
showed up with them as one of their “recreational interests” I’d get them
instantly fired or worse, have rotten tomatoes thrown at us well before we got
to the bed.
But never mind that, did they think this through? Me? They wanted me to be a part of a trio—as in the third person of a threesome,
the middle of the sandwich. Goodness socks, they seriously wanted to have sex
with me. In front of other people. In front of other rich people who paid for
the privilege. Did I say they were crazy? I meant deranged, certifiable and
downright silly.
“You deserve a chance to be cherished. To be worshipped.”
The tone of Alan’s voice changed from soft to husky. Whispers of excitement
slithered down my skin. What was happening to me?
“He’s right, babe. Try us, come on.” Ridge stepped closer. I
was finding it hard to breathe. I always thought of sex when I was with my
friends, but it never involved me, oh no. Even in my fantasies I imagined them
with some hot exotic beauty, because they were so well above me. I also thought
that because Danny and I grew up in the same town, he a mediocre businessman
and me a mere assistant, that his aspirations were similar to mine—settle down
and have a family and live a mediocre life. Yeah, right. How did that pan out?
