While he was shocked that Erin would so readily allow him to just do whatever he wished to Abby as long as he didn’t harm her, he shouldn’t have been. The girls didn’t know each other and while many people would be selfless and want to rescue their fellow man, others were all about self-preservation. Erin was still young and apparently over estimated her value to society. If anything he was doing her a huge favor.
