lips. A long, lingering sweep of his tongue. When he pulled back, a wildfire burned in his gaze. “Oh yeah,” he murmured, “really good.”
Now Courtney was the center of attention. Every man in that small cellar wanted his wife to taste the same wine.
That kiss was hot. No married-couple kiss, it screamed lovers who’d just climbed out of bed. And were going straight home to climb back into it. Standing on Seth’s other side, Robyn slid her wineglass along the counter to him. “Taste mine.”
His eyes flitted from Courtney to the bartender to Robyn, then he cupped the back of Robyn’s neck and tasted the wine from her lips. More a peck than the kiss he’d given Courtney, it was no less hot, due mainly to the look in their bartender’s eyes. Courtney suddenly felt lightheaded. The kid totally got what was going on. Tonight all three would share the same bed. Seth had kissed Robyn to give their audience the thrill of speculation. She read it in the long steady gaze he gave her, the slight curve of his lips, hinting at a smile only she would recognize. He wanted the show. He wanted the reaction, to hear the shocked, excited voices whispering across the cellar. He wanted the kid, young enough to be Seth’s son, to understand exactly what it meant to be older, seasoned, experienced. He wanted Courtney’s heart to race, too. Her heart did pick up speed. The excitement, but also the tiniest hint of anxiety. How much had he liked Robyn’s kiss? Better than hers? She threw the thought from her mind. She didn’t want to spoil a thing. Their bartender held up the two bottles. “Which do you prefer, sir, Riesling or the merlot?”
Seth’s smile was cocky, arrogant. Showy. “They’re best when tasted together.”
The young man’s eyebrows rose to his hairline. Courtney was sure she’d heard the proverbial pin drop in the sudden silence before a cacophony of whispers, voices, giggles, and laughter echoed through the room. Oh, he was bad, so bad. Courtney wanted more of it. 45
Three’s A Crowd

SETH FLIPPED COURTNEY’S HAIR OVER HER SHOULDER, RUBBED HIS finger behind her ear, then cupped her nape. “Shall we buy a bottle of each, ladies?”
“I’m not done sampling this young man’s wares.” Courtney fluttered her eyelashes, and Seth rewarded her with a firm squeeze on the sensitive crook of her neck. The game, she found it utterly exhilarating.
“How about the Sangiovese for me?” Robyn twirled her glass by the stem. Courtney dropped her voice to Robyn’s seductive pitch. “I’d like the champagne with the hint of toasted almond.”
Like a magician, the bartender had both hands moving at once, uncorking, pouring. “Coming right up, ladies.”
Seth kissed Courtney’s earlobe and whispered, “I’ll tell you what’s already up, baby.”
“Yours or the boy’s?” Courtney murmured as the bartender headed to the end of the counter for Robyn’s choice.
Seth laughed. “Both. Better watch out for jailbait, though.”
She pulled him close by the front of his shirt. “I like older men.”
Her champagne suddenly appeared on the counter along with Robyn’s red.
“Enjoy to your heart’s content, ladies.”
The young man was dying to be their fourth. Courtney hadn’t had this much sexy, flirty fun in . . . God, forever. It wasn’t Seth’s fault. It wasn’t hers. They’d fallen into the twenty-year rut, the raising-children mind-set, the saving-forretirement black hole. Time was for doing everything else that needed to be done, and their love life had taken a backseat. Robyn and this weekend were the cure.
They left with the Riesling and the merlot Robyn’s young man had uncorked especially for her. He threw in a corkscrew for later, but the poor bartender never got his invite. Three’s perfect, four is a crowd. As least this time. Oh my God. She couldn’t really be contemplating a foursome. She wasn’t even sure if she’d like the threesome.
