you done? We should be going." He asked.
"I guess." She answered sighing.
"You sound like someone about to face torture." He spurted.
"Well, maybe that's how I feel."
"I thought all women loved shopping." He replied, puzzled.
"Probably, but I don’t. So please let's make this fast." She said, getting up.
"Women are impossible to understand." He grunted, guiding her to the front door, where two cars waited for them.
One was driven by Garcia and Wilson and the other one, a hummer SUV, by Jordan and herself. "Are they your bodyguards?" she couldn’t help asking.
"Yes they are." He answered with a cold tone.
"And do you real think you need them?" she asked. That fact had always pissed her. All political public figures had several bodyguards, while over 25,000 people were killed a year all around the country by the hands of delinquents.
"Yes, I really need them. We all have a lot of enemies and I'm not making things easy for them by being careless with my life." He replied coldly.
"I see…" well, he did have a point there.
They arrived at the island's biggest mall and soon they were entering the best stores there. He helped her chose all her clothes. He was very clear with what he wanted so she just let him choose. The clothes were for his benefit, not hers.
He bought everything… from underwear to heavy coats. Shoes, sandals, boots… he spent a small fortune and the more he bought the more her mood grew darker.
By the end of the day, she was exhausted, and edgy.
Chapter Eleven
"Do you want to eat here, or would you rather go back home?" He asked her when he considered they were done shopping.
"If I can choose, then please take me back to the house. I'm too tired." She said, rubbing her forehead, in a vain attempt to rub off her headache.
He took a good look at her and decided to please her. "Very well, we can go home."
"Thank you."
"You don’t seem happy with all the things that I bought you." He said, when he took a seat behind the wheel of his SUV.
"Do I have to? It's just clothing." She replied, closing her eyes and leaning her head on the back of the seat.
"Most women would be deliriously happy with everything I bought you." He insisted.
"Well, I'm afraid I'm not like most women. A quarter of what you bought was more than enough." She said in a scolding tone, looking ahead, waiting for him to start the car.
"Are you for real? I thought a woman never had enough clothes or shoes." She crossed her arms over her chest and turned to look at him with a frown, her eyes saying it all. "Ok, ok, you're not like all women… I'm starting to discover that myself." He said raising his hands in sign of surrender. He started the car and soon they were on their way to the house.
At that hour, streets were starting to look empty. The underworld had been installed on the island as well, and people were leaving for home early, fearing robberies and even being killed for a pair shoes or a cell phone. Things were becoming very difficult for most people.
They arrived at the house and she walked in, leaving all the bags in the car. She had no intention of carrying them. Besides, she didn’t even know where she should take them.
He entered behind her, leaving the bags to Garcia and Wilson.
"Boss, where do you want all this?" Garcia asked, entering the house, carrying so many bags he could hardly see where he was going.
Jordan looked at her for a second with a devious grin, before turning to answer his man. "Take it to my room, Garcia, please."
So he wanted her in his room. She wasn’t sure if she was happy about that or not. That fact could mean too many things and she wasn’t in the mood to analyze it.
"Yes, boss."
Wilson entered carrying almost as many bags and followed Garcia. If looks could kill, Ashley was sure she would be dead. It was quite clear that Wilson had a problem with her. She sure as hell didn’t want to cross his path more than necessary.
"Hungry?" he asked, turning to her again.
"Yes,
