to him in the first place?”
“Because I needed to clear the air and reconcile some things
with myself before I could move forward with you.   I’ve never told anyone exactly why I broke
things off with
Jackson
.
I was still in nursing school when we met, and he was a doctor ten years my
senior. For a while things seemed perfect. He was polite, thoughtful,
sensitive, and respectful of my goals. He even praised me for my
virginity.   I should’ve known then he was
too good to be true.”
“What happened, love?” he asked, his tone gentle now that she’d opened up.   He wasn’t a heartless bastard; he just didn’t fancy being played again.
“I walked in on him and one of the nurses having sex in one
of the empty patient rooms. It turns out he was sleeping with half the hospital
staff. He told me they were just place holders until we got married, that a man
had needs. You’d think I’d have slapped him and told him to stick it where the sun don’t shine. But he was so damn smooth, he made it almost seem logical. Plus, I didn’t want to let my family down. They
loved
Jackson
,
and for the first time in a long time my mother actually seemed proud of
me.”
“What made you change your mind?”
“One of his mistresses had a pregnancy scare, and I realized
how much I was compromising my beliefs and myself. I broke it off, accepted
this job in
Austin
,
and never looked back.”
“You did the right thing, pet. No man should ever disrespect
the woman they claim to love that way.”
“I know that now, yet at the time it was hard to digest.”
“Next time he calls, let me speak with him.”
    “I—”
“I promised to take care of you. That means ridding you of
pests from your past, if need be. I won’t stand for anyone making you feel
uncomfortable or harassed.”
She ducked her head, and he grabbed her chin.
“You are mine to care for, do you understand me?”
    “Yes, Professor.”
“Good. I want you to come to me with any issues you have,
Sutton.”
She nodded as she squirmed on his lap.
    “You’re uncomfortable.”
“It’s disconcerting baring my soul to you. I feel exposed
and vulnerable.”
“That way lies the path to true
freedom. You’re beginning to give yourself over to me. Do you trust me to make
the proper decisions?”
“Yes, but it’s not… easy to make the transition.”
“I know, but you’re doing quite well.”
    “You’re pleased with me.”
“Yes, I’m very proud to be your Dom. Are you ready to take
the next step in your training?”
    “I think so.”
“Next time we play then. For now I want to hold you.”
He nuzzled her neck as she relaxed against him once
more.   Next time he would show her how to
please him.
    “Sutton?”
    “ Mhmm ?”
“If you want this to work, you can’t lie to me like that
again.”
    “I understand.”

    Chapter Eight

      Sutton was sitting at
her breakfast nook when shame and confusion hit her like a ton of bricks.
Sidney
had brought her to
tears a few nights ago with his spanking.   She loved it. What kind of person enjoyed something like that?   For the first time since they’d entered their
agreement she found herself questioning her new arrangement.   If anyone in her family found out what she
was doing they’d have her committed. Good girls did not lie over their
boyfriend’s lap while he paddled them until they cried and they came close to
orgasm. For a moment there she had hit the plateau of sub space Leigh had
mentioned. Nothing had mattered but the pleasurable pain that had taken her
away from all the stress and drama of reality.
      Even now her panties
were moist from the thought of being paddled again. She rubbed her thighs
together and nibbled on her bottom lip as her core began to throb with
need.
Sidney
had told her not to orgasm until she
saw him again. She thought about disobeying him, but knew he’d be able to tell.
The man was like a human lie detector.
