reunited with his body. His ephemeral form could only accomplish so much. While his flesh and soul remained separated, the threat of imprisonment in the candle was very real.
Staring into her beautiful violet eyes, he dismissed the tender feelings he longed to nurture and moved ahead with what had to be done.
    “Yes, yes, I am.”

T he soft locks of his red-gold hair brushed over her legs as he moved back, putting space between them as though he recognized her need to gather her thoughts. “You are a truly magnificent gift, Gen. Never have I felt desire the way you experience it.”
Maybe her brain was addled from the glorious release, but something about his words seemed peculiar. She surveyed him now from a distance and found him just as mouthwateringly incredible. His skin had a honey hue, so unusual with that flame-colored hair. His face was hard, angular, with sharply bladed cheekbones and a cleft in his chin. However, it was his jade-green eyes and the fire burning within that nearly stopped her heart. His was not the face of a man who drifted through life content with the cards he’d been dealt. He possessed drive, purpose. He was hard everywhere, including the enormous erection pointed directly at her. God, how she wanted that inside her, stretching her, giving her another one of those cataclysmic orgasms.
But her embarrassment was stronger than her desire. Jeez, he’d walked right on in on her masturbating and had helped himself to her goodies. As Nana would say, that makes for a fine how-do-you-do!
She shuddered, really not comfortable thinking about Nana after what they had just been doing.
If she was a more experienced kind of girl, she would grab hold of that stiff cock and return the favor. It wouldn’t be a chore. Her tongue darted out as she thought about licking and sucking on him. In fact, she was sort of surprised he hadn’t suggested it already. But the small smile playing across firm masculine lips was one of satisfaction, as though he was content to simply look at her. To just be with her.
“Wow, you’re ... very different from the others.”
The smile grew as if he liked what she’d said. “How exactly?”
She thought about it for a beat. “I’m not really sure. It’s just a feeling, like you actually want to be here with me, instead of have to be here with me as part of your job.”
His green eyes glowed in the dim light. “I do want to be here with you, Gen. You have no idea how much.”
Her gaze dropped to his erection. “I’ve got a pretty decent idea.”
Easing up over the top of her, he guided her to lie back until his body surrounded hers like a living blanket. He zeroed in on her face. The intense connection she’d experienced when she’d first seen him returned, as if she’d been waiting for him all her life.
His red-gold hair formed a curtain around them as he rested his forehead against hers. “I know how much you want me. I can sense your needs.”
She felt her eyebrows draw together. “What do you mean?”
Their skin barely touched, but she felt as though he enveloped her completely. “I’m an empath.”
Her lips parted, but she didn’t know how to respond to his statement. An empath? Like a life-sized mood ring? She couldn’t think between his overwhelming presence and her body’s eager response to it. He stole her breath, scattered her already-frazzled wits.
He took advantage of the situation and swept his tongue into her mouth in a lusty kiss. His mouth tasted of salt and spice and her recent orgasm. Gen shivered as he tangled his tongue with hers in slow strokes, exploring her mouth as if he had all the time in the world. That rock-hard shaft brushed over her belly, and without conscious thought, she lifted her hips, letting her body ask for the fulfillment it desperately craved.
He didn’t hesitate to grab his erection and align it with her sex. His eyes remained fixed on her face, and he entered her in one smooth thrust.
    Though she had
