seizure of devastating release.
A long, long time later, he set her back on her feet, supported her when her legs buckled, lathered and rinsed her lushness, and licked and suckled her to another soothing orgasm. He was addicted to her taste and pleasure already. And he mustn’t even think it. This ended tonight.
But the night still had many hours. He’d use up every second.
He gathered her, wet and sated, took her back to the bedroom.
He threw her on the bed, watching her bounce on it in a sinuous arch of sensual madness. Desire roared at full blast all over again.
He crawled on all fours over her, looked down at her as she spread herself for his exploitation and pleasuring.
“Now, Kara. Now I take you as you should be taken, on a bed worthy of your satin flesh, servicing your magnificent body until it is numb with pleasure.”
She opened her thighs for him, hooked her ankles around his waist. “You did that when you had nothing to work with but a narrow wall, a cramped bench and a slippery shower stall. So don’t knock uncomfortable and inconvenient.”
“My apologies.” He cupped her buttocks, mounted her, smiled into the emerald fire and desire that were her eyes. “But for the rest of the night, you’ll have to put up with comfort and convenience with your pleasure.”
“Oh, that works, too. I’d put up with anything at all as long as I can have your magnificence.”
“You have it all, my glorious Kara.”
He rode her for hours this time, in every position. And as promised, he made her come all over him in each. The fiercest had been this last time, when he’d had her on her side as he took her from the back, stroking her with his fingers at once. As she seized and shook, he finally joined her in the depths of pleasure, poured the fuel of his come on hers.
He wanted more, but she was finally too drained, too replete, to arouse again. He remained buried inside her, turned her head, drowned them both in a leisurely mating of mouths until she drew a fraction away, her swollen lips spreading in a smile of bone-deep satisfaction.
“Overachiever.” Her voice cracked, shivered down his every supercharged nerve. “You far surpassed your promised projections. I lost count of how many times I came. I think I’ve lost the ability to move ever again, too.”
He almost said he’d crammed too much in too little time, since this one night was all they’d have.
He didn’t. He wouldn’t shatter the perfection by bringing up an end that was still a few hours away.
He pulled her back into him, contained her body in the curve of his and counted her breaths as she fell asleep.
    He debated falling asleep himself.
Should he waste his remaining time with her sleeping?
But this would be the one time he could sleep with her in his arms.
He hugged her closer, closed his eyes.

He woke up as soon as she moved.
He remained still, pretending to sleep, watched her through slit lids. She tiptoed around the lushly carpeted room, gathering her ruined clothes. As soon as her coat safely covered her and she’d finger-combed her wild curls into a semblance of order, she sat down at the desk.
For a long moment, she stared at the notepad. Finally she wrote what must have been only a couple of lines.
Then she rose. She stood there, looking at him across the distance for what felt like forever.
The temptation to go to her, drag her back to bed, tell her she was going nowhere, ever again, was brutal.
He maintained his sleep pretense. She finally turned and walked to the door. Her shoulders were slumped, her steps impeded.
She didn’t want to end it.
He was grateful that she did.
He wouldn’t have had the will to walk away.

Chapter Six
Thank you for the best two nights of my life.
    I’ll never forget you.
Vidar read the note again. As if he’d find new words, more meanings. Something he’d missed the first thousand times he’d read it.
It had been a week since Kara had written it. He’d grabbed it the
