misread things and he wasn’t as interested as he had seemed when he kissed her on his balcony. Clearly, from the women giving him their phone numbers continually, he had a history that others were aware of. Annie considered the fact that he had hardly touched her since that morning. She had loved being with him, but felt he saw her as a sister.
A morning cruise on the harbor aboard a luxury yacht was another highlight, but nothing topped the sunset surprise Cam had organized one evening. They climbed the Sydney Harbour Bridge, much to the trepidation of Annie. The view was like no other either of them had experienced before. There was little wonder as to why so many people were proposed to at the summit as it was truly a spectacular place to be. They were above the world, so close to the heavens. Annie’s breath was truly taken away, not only with the view all around her, but with all the actions of this sexy surfer. He had rescued her, taken care of her, and shown her a good time. What she ever did to deserve this, she would never know. Cam had his own Angel of Nashville beside him and still felt like he should pinch himself to confirm he was really there with her.
Cam pulled up at the hotel entrance and killed the ignition. He got out and before she knew it, he had opened her door.
“Thank you so much for a fun day,” a smiling Annie said as she slid out of the passenger side. Cam had taken her to the beach again and Annie was enjoying the pastime more than she ever thought she would.
“No worries at all. I had a great time. I know who to come to if I need a laugh,” Cam said with a chuckle.
“Fine. Fine! So surfing isn’t going to be one of my strong points. I have other talents,” Annie told him.
“Such as?” he questioned as his scarred right eyebrow raised.
“Wouldn’t you like to know?” giggled Annie. She paused for a moment then said, “Do you want to come in and have a drink at the bar?” She looked at him with hopeful eyes.
Cam really wanted to say, ‘ No, but I will take you upstairs and lick the alcohol off your body.’ But he thought better of that. “Sure. I have time for drink, but I don’t think we are properly attired for the hotel bar.” He grinned at her as he threw his Jeep’s keys to the valet. He waved his hand out in front, motioning for Annie to lead on.
“We can go up to my room and sit out on the balcony instead,” Annie stated as they walked into the lobby. She had summoned the courage from within to ask him up to her room. She would never ever have done that in the past.
“Great idea,” Cam said with a wink. Annie just smiled and shook her head.
On their way to the elevators, they passed Will at the concierge desk who had a Cheshire Cat grin on his face. Annie knew he would be used to seeing all kinds of celebrities going in and out of the hotel, but she knew that he was a big fan of Cam’s. Annie waved back to Will and smiled.
“Friend of yours?” Cam asked with a questioning look on his face.
“Will’s been a wonderful help to me since I arrived. He knew just what I needed after my little beach mishap the other day,” Annie said as the elevator car arrived. The doors opened and they got in. Annie reached across in front of Cam and pressed the number for her floor.
As she moved back, Cam whispered in her ear, “Is that so? I bet I could have given you exactly what you needed.”
Annie stopped still and closed her eyes. Her breathing quickened. She could feel the heat intensify between them but didn’t want to turn around. She was scared but at the same time, so turned on. Her nipples hardened when she felt his warm breath in her ear.
“You’d like that, wouldn’t you, Annie?” he said slowly. Cam’s voice was deep and husky, not its usual fun and cheeky. He leaned down and started placing light kisses from her ear down her jawline. Annie let out a soft moan. She felt a warmth spread throughout her body. Why had no other man ever made
