goose bumps across every inch of her very naked skin.
“I’m sorry that you had to be disciplined and I hope I won’t have to make this a regular habit.” Luke brushed his hand down from her neck to her back.
Wiping her eyes, she nodded, unsure if she was able to make a single coherent sound.
Luke exhaled slowly and gathered her into his arms. “My Jezebel.”
Jessie blinked, trying to force away her tears. They were of longing and sadness about her behavior and also about a moment of feeling free. She clung to him, pushing her face into his chest and breathing in the rich scent of his skin before closing her eyes. Unable to hold back her raw emotions, she sobbed. “Oh…I…”
“ Ssshhh… There’s no need to talk. I’m very proud of you.” Using a single finger he traced up and down her spine as he placed his chin on top of her head. “Very proud indeed.”
As she clenched her eyes shut she fell into the rhythm of his body, rocking them both back and forth. Sniffling, she licked tears from her lips and exhaled, the sound so ragged.
    “Jezebel.”
In the next few seconds she stopped crying. She was filled with a sense of comfort and relief, love silencing her fears. Without a doubt she knew she was loved. She slipped into a blissful state and almost fell asleep until she heard a n odd sound.
Opening her eyes wide, Jessie could swear she heard Luke crying.

Chapter Three

Jessie sighed as she nuzzled into Luke's shoulder and could tell he was just barely asleep. There was something so intoxicating about the scent of his skin, the way he felt lying so closely nestled into the searing heat of her body. Her entire body tingled, goose bumps covering every inch of her arms and legs. They'd made love for hours and yet she knew he'd be hungry again very soon. After all, he was an insatiable man. For a few seconds she thought about the night before and the spanking, a smile curling across her lips.
Then s he remembered his groans, her concern he’d been upset. She had no idea what to think or even if she should be concerned. Luke was such a private man and of course he hadn’t told her everything about his past life, as she hadn’t with him. Everyone had secrets. She only hoped the ones they continued to keep wouldn’t tear them apart. A shiver trickled down her spine.
Her thoughts disjointed , she trembled and realized there was something completely different about the way she was feeling this morning. Perhaps it was because of the deep and very uninhibited conversation they’d had the night before or because of her recent soul searching, but either way, everything had kicked up a notch. The spanking had been… Hmmm, how could she describe the moment? Maybe what she expected? Sighing, she tilted her head and shifted. As the sheet slipped past the skin on her ass, she knew for certain she’d been spanked. Just like she deserved.
Wrinkling her nose, Jessie thought about the way he’d handled her discipline and smiled. Obviously the entire situation had been difficult on him, but had she really heard him crying? And dare she ask him? Nope. Not a good idea. Today was a new day and she wanted to spend time together. No dwelling on sadness. God, she didn’t want him to leave. Grousing, she turned toward the window. The light was barely slipping past the blinds. He was going to have to leave soon for another trip and she already missed him, hated him being gone. Yes, she was still pissed.
The discussion the night before had been inspiring and yet she continued to feel so inadequate. Maybe she doubted herself, as she had been often lately. There were so many reasons including the daunting concept of devotion. Jessie had thought she understood what she needed to feel completely, but the questions from the night before had shown her in no uncertain terms she’d been wrong. He continued to question her willfulness and his ability to control her. Luke didn’t have to say anything for her to realize his
