a
tail. He told me it wouldn’t happen until the full moon, but I accidentally
discovered that I can already shift. At least, partially.”
    Micah
withdrew from her, setting her back on her feet. “Show me.”
    “I’ve
never shifted fully. I’m not sure if I can.”
    “Take
a deep breath and visualize yourself as a wolf. Feel the wind blow through your
fur.” He tugged at her top. “But first, you might want to ditch the clothes and
shoes.”
    Bridget
looked around, making sure they were alone, before she stripped out of her
clothes, setting them gently on top of a nearby crate. She took a deep breath,
just like Micah had instructed, closed her eyes and tried to envision herself
as a wolf. She didn’t think it would work, until suddenly she felt like her
skin was prickling. Bridget cracked her eyes open and saw fine white hairs
erupting through her arms.
    Her
eyes slammed shut again and she tried to call forth her wolf.
    Pain
racked her body as her bones shifted and cracked into place. She fell to her
hands and knees and tried to breathe through it. As her body contorted for the
final shift, she screamed out, her voice ending in a soulful howl as her wolf
bounded to the forefront.
    Micah
knelt before her and held out his hand. She sniffed it before giving it a lick.
His smile warmed her heart.
    “You’re
beautiful, Bridget. But then I knew you would be. You’re a stunning woman and
an even more gorgeous wolf. I’m going to be the envy of every wolf in the pack.
I not only have a strong mate, but one who was willing to transform herself
because she thought it would make her a better alpha female.”
    Bridget
tilted her head to the side, but couldn’t really respond.
    “Let’s
go for a run, shall we?” His smile widened as he began stripping out of his
clothes. He placed them with hers and then she watched his transformation from
man to wolf. The process didn’t look as painful for Micah, and a moment later,
a beautiful black wolf stood before her. He nuzzled her and licked her ear,
walking around her to check her out from all angles.
    The
back door of the club opened and Josette stepped out.
    “Oh!”
Her hand went to her mouth. “Oh, Bridget. You look wonderful.”
    Bridget
yipped at her, startling a laugh from her friend.
    “I’ll
take your clothes to my car. Yours too, Micah. If the two of you want to run
back to the Alpha’s house, I’ll bring them by in the morning.” She smiled.
“Something tells me you won’t need them before then anyway.”
    Bridget
yipped again and then bounded out of the alley. Micah came up beside her a
moment later and they took off into the night. Bridget had never felt so free,
so right , until this very moment. She
knew she was exactly where she was supposed to be, and was finally who she was supposed to be. For the
first time in a long time, her future looked bright and exciting. And she knew
the wolf beside her would make it an interesting ride.
