It’s over,” I answered honestly. Really, what could I do? He made his choice. His wife. There was obviously nothing I could do to change that. He had moved on after only a short time, reclaiming his wife. Fucking bastard.
Shane cleared his throat, forcing both Suzie and me to turn to look at him. “I know you’re upset, given the circumstances, but I don’t think you should give up, just yet. He obviously still lo—”
I didn’t let him finish, “Don’t you dare say it! Do not sit there and tell me, that he fucking loves me, when he’s out parading around with that bitch in his arm.” The bile that rose in my throat choked me, as I thought about all they could have done together in a weeks’ time. “He doesn’t fucking love me, Shane,” I choked out in sobs, my heart breaking at the confession.
“Would a man who’s moved on, do this to me?” he softly countered. “He nearly killed me out there,” he continued, as I mulled over his words. “I know my brother, and a reaction like this tells me that not only does he still love you, but he has never stopped.” I lifted my head so that my eyes meet his. “Trust me.”
I wanted to. I wanted to believe that tonight was one big misunderstanding. That he hadn’t betrayed our love. Though, we’d been apart for what felt like forever, Julien had never left me completely. His presence still haunted me in my dreams; each and every night. Gripping hands, smooth, strong chest, plump, sweet lips... God, I missed him. But now, it was all gone. He would share those things with her.
“Fuck that shit! He’s a dick and you need to forget his ass,” Suzie chimed in with a bitter groan, her anger evident on her face. “I told that fucker, I would kick his ass if he ever hurt you. Seems to me he wasn’t taking me seriously...” she continued, before pausing and turning to Shane. “Let that shithead know that his days are numbered.”
Shane lifted to his feet and took quick strides to Suzie. I watched as Suzie gulped when he towered over her, though she tried to appear unfazed. “Has anyone ever told you that it isn’t ladylike to threaten?” he hissed, in a sensual tone that was not lost to me.
Suzie looked up at him. I could swear she had climaxed right there in front of him, but she quickly composed herself, blinking back the look of sweet satisfaction from her eyes. Her lips turned up in a flirtatious smirk. “Who the fuck said I was a lady?” She accentuated each word slowly, her eyes glaring up at him in defiance, lustful.
Suzie broke away from his lust-filled eyes first, realizing that she had been ogling him in my presence, not that it had ever stopped her before. “Y’all need to get a fucking room, already.” I shook my head in slight amusement.
Suzie waved her hand, dismissing the sexually charged moment I had witnessed between her and Shane. “No need. I mean he’s a fucking Belmont. He’s an enemy by default,” she tried to convince me, but nothing would persuade me otherwise. She wanted Shane, just as badly as he desired her.
“Sure, whatever.” I rolled my eyes and looked up at Shane, who hadn’t broken his hooded gaze. “Um, enemy... I think I need some girl time. Time to go home,” I announced, before lifting to my feet, taking hold of his hand and leading him to my door.
He went willingly, with a knowing smirk on his lips and look of determination on his face. He continued to gape at Suzie, not doubt undressing her in his mind. God, these Belmont men are savages.

Leaving the ladies to do their bonding, I headed home. It felt like I hadn’t seen my condo in such a long time, that it actually felt weird when I walked in.
Spending so much time with Emily had been exhausting. It was the first time I had cared for a woman without getting something in return. Luckily for Emily, I didn’t see her in that way. Suzie, on the other hand, was another story.
I wasn’t sure what it was about the woman that made me want to fuck
