hauled from his arms.  His fangs tore at her
mouth, and she gave a sharp cry of pain mixed with frustration as David dragged
her away from him.  Val leaped to his feet.  There was a single drop of her
blood on his lip and he licked it away, his body shuddering at the sweet taste,
before he snarled and bared his fangs at the man.
“Give her back to me now or I’ll kill you
where you stand, human.”
“No.”  David was afraid, Val could smell it
coming off of him in slow waves, but he tightened his arm around Abby’s
shoulders as she leaned against him and touched her bleeding mouth.
“Little dove, I’m sorry.”  He didn’t take his
eyes from David’s.  “I did not mean to hurt you.”
    “It’s fine.  I – I’m fine.”  She
stuttered.
“Good.”  He turned his gaze to her and held
his hand out.  “Come to me, Abigail.”
She took a step forward, her gaze burning
into his, and then David was pulling her back.  “No, Abby.  Stay strong.”
She shook her head at the sound of David’s
voice and the spell between them was broken.  “Please, can I lie down?  I’m
very tired.”
“Of course.”  David began to help her walk
to the house and Val hissed with fury.  He’d had enough of David’s
interference.  He would kill the human and be done with it.  Neil’s hard hand fell
on his arm.
    “Don’t, Val.”
Val glanced down at Neil’s hand and
although he could have ripped the man’s arm off easily he allowed him to pull
him to a stop.
“If you kill him, she’ll never let you
touch her again.  You know that.  Use your head.”

Chapter
6

Abigail sat cross-legged on the bed and
touched the cut on her lip.  She had nearly died, been healed by a pixie and
kissed Val.  Kissing Val was the only thing that she cared about.  She sighed
and stared out the window into the darkness.  David had wanted to stay with her
but after half an hour she had asked him to leave.
She hadn’t wanted to hurt his feelings but
she could feel her anger throbbing and burning inside of her.  If it hadn’t
been for him, she would be with Val right now.  He would be between her legs,
his cock easing the ache between her thighs, and his fangs easing the ache in
her brain.
Later, when she had gotten control of
herself, she would be grateful to David but right now she wanted to scream with
frustration and rage.  She touched her mouth again, remembering how it felt to
have Val’s firm lips on hers.  She had expected them to be cold but they
weren’t.  They had been warm and had started a thirst in her veins that only he
could quench.
She breathed in and out for a few moments
before a light outside of the window caught her attention.  The pixie hovered
outside and Abby didn’t hesitate.  She ran across the room and opened the
window.
The pixie flew in and stared nervously at
her.
“Hello, little one.  Thank you for saving
my life.”  Abby said softly.  Moving slowly, she sat down cross-legged on the
bed, secretly delighted when the pixie followed her and landed on her knee.
She mimicked Abby’s posture, planting her small butt on Abby’s leg and crossing
her long purple limbs.
“What’s your name, little one?”  Abby
asked.
The pixie cocked her head at her but didn’t
reply.
    “Can you speak?”
The pixie shook her head before opening her
mouth and making a fluttering gesture along her throat and in front of her open
mouth with her hands.  She made desperate grabbing motions before heaving a
sigh and hanging her head.
“Was your voice stolen from you?”  Abby
frowned.
    The pixie nodded gravely.
“Is that why your own kind rejected you?”
The pixie made a delicate shrugging motion
and stared bored at the ceiling.
“I wonder what your name is.”  Abby said.
“Maybe I could guess it.”
The pixie jumped to her feet, her wings
fluttering, and gestured excitedly at Abigail.
“Okay, okay.  Let me try.  Hmm... is it
Gertrude?”
    Abigail laughed when
