done it before, but I don’t think we should be humping each other behind his—”
Humping? Abruptly, Lacey stood, shoving herself back from Devin’s body. He was mocking her, and he was entirely correct to do so!
She’d never seen such a glorious sight in her life, Devin all sprawled on the windowsill. His chest heaved with his panting, and his nipples stood out stiffly under his shirt. An impossible bulge filled the crotch of his 501s, the balls full and tasty, the cock plump.
But a wave of shame flooded Lacey’s conscience. She had been humping this poor stud, and just because the thought of him sucking another man’s cock had suddenly turned her on! “I’m so sorry, Devin. I really should stay away from wine! I am never , normally, never normally this wanton.” Her hand fluttered above her bosom like a woman in a historical film.
Devin spread his hands wide. “Lacey! There’s no need for an apology. I just think that we should wait—”
Lacey turned and skittered down the steps to the main floor. How could I? How could I have flung myself at that gorgeous cowboy like a—like a—like a Brittney ?
Several well-wishers attempted to waylay her on her way out the front door of the hall, but she merely smiled, waved, and acted as though she had a taxi to catch. Katrina had her little clutch purse, but it was safe with Katrina.
Lacey just wanted to get out of the hall and hide in her apartment. This was too much. Too much for one night.

Chapter Six

“You didn’t blow it, Devin,” Chase assured his lover. “Believe me. I’m not a complete noob when it comes to women. And I know one thing women like. You.”
Chase yanked open the fridge and withdrew the bottle of champagne from last night. He flipped off the cork stopper with a hollow sound and poured two fresh glasses. He didn’t know why Devin agonized so over things, most of which never turned out to be true. Right now, in fact, Devin sat at the kitchen table, literally with head in hands.
“I blew it, I’m telling you, buddy. One minute she was all over me like a diabetic chipmunk on sugar-coated nuts. I’m not exaggerating, Chase. It was just like in my wildest imaginings, only better. She smells like…lilies.” Suddenly he sat up straight, jutting his lower jaw out. “What do you mean, women like me? The last woman who liked me wound up fucking my brother.”
“I don’t mean Selina.” The name of the Rough and Ready woman was rarely mentioned. “I mean women in general, Dev. You haven’t noticed? Everywhere we go, women drop things when they turn to watch you pass. And I mean drop. Last week a woman dropped her coffee cup on the sidewalk.”
Devin returned to looking miserable, waving away his friend. “Yeah, because you walked by. I’m telling you, she just turned off like I threw water on her. I was actually opening up her mind to the possibility that she might hook up with two men, and the next thing I knew she’s screaming out the door. All I said was we should wait for you, and she was out the door like a shot.”
Chase put Devin’s glass on the table next to him. “You didn’t need to do that. I don’t mind what the two of you do without me present, as long as I can ultimately join in. Maybe she ran screaming at the idea of hooking up with me , did that ever occur to you? You said she ran the second you mentioned me.”
“No, when I first brought up the idea of her being with the two of us, that’s when she got all moist-eyed and steamy. You know how women get?”
“Horny? Yeah, I think I might recall. And that’s when she jumped you?”
“Yeah.” Devin gulped champagne and stared distantly at a drinking water cooler. They were in Chase’s flat above Positive Vibrations. It was more a warehouse than an apartment, being stocked with overflowing merchandise from the downstairs store. Right now a carton of Slippery Slope lubricant was shoved under the table where Devin moped. “She was definitely horny,
