Unhinged
in every sense of the word.
“ Isobel!” he bellowed in a determined tone. “I’m coming through!”
What for? I wanted to ask, shocked that his threat hadn’t been empty.
Without another word, he blasted through the damned door with a swift kick, frightening me and leaving the now broken door slightly ajar.
“ Why are you hiding from me?” he demanded harshly. Possessed with anger, he hadn’t even had the decency to put some clothes on.
The very thought of him moments ago having sex with Arianne as I mortifyingly watched made my stomach churn.
“ Please leave me alone, Hugo. You made your point. Let me get dressed, and then I’ll leave, forever. I give you my word. I won’t ever seek you out. Ever.”
“ You. Slapped. Me,” he uttered succinctly as he slowly charged towards me.
The only light that filtered through was from the slightly cracked door, yet even in darkness, the man still affected me.
Taking small steps to avoid him, I nervously gazed at him. “You knew, and yet you had to disrespect me in such a way! You could’ve saved me the humiliation—”
His face changed entirely. “ Disrespect you , Isobel? Is that what I did?” He barked out a cruel laugh. “Then what about your betrayal, huh? When you freely gave something that wasn’t yours to give?” he growled the words out, incensed. “You. Were. Mine.”
I trembled at the way he enunciated every word.
“ You were mine, Isobel!” he grunted the words into my face, making me. “And yet you let another man fuck your body, a body that was fucking mine to have, to own until I was done with it. I bloody trusted you!”
Quivering, I sought his eyes. “I’m sorry. You don’t know how much—”
“ Sorry? Sorry? You think I could forgive you just because you utter those words? You don’t know me at all.”
“ I am sorry, and I meant every word of it. But, there’s no point in any of this, not anymore. So, please, get out so I can get dressed and leave you to live your grand lifestyle.” Above all, I was exhausted, too exhausted to fight with him, too embarrassed to dwell on what had transpired in this hotel room.
“ You can’t simply try to come back into my life and think there’d be no consequences, Isobel!”
Rage rolled off me in spades. “You have done enough, you stupid bastard! I get it—you don’t want me, okay? So fucking leave me alone so I can get back to my life!”
“ Yeah, I don’t want you,” he huffed out derogatorily.
My hand connected with his cheek for the second time. The loud thwacking sound echoed in the air as my hand started to feel numb from the force I had used.
“ Hugo…” I meant to apologize, but the deadly look he was giving me made the words dissolve on my tongue as I momentarily feared for my own life.
Trepidation filled my existence as the time stretched to a standstill while I waited for him to do something harmful to me.
The air between us was charged with something dangerous, and when I saw him stick out the tip of his tongue on the side of his lips, as if calculating the right time to punish me, it almost made me whimper.
“ Hurt me more,” he commanded as he came closer until his chest brushed against my breasts. “Hurt me. Hit me. Go ahead.”
“ No. I don’t want to partake in any of your twisted mind games, Hugo.” Though I was petrified, I had too much to lose if I acted on my urges. Truth be told, I wanted to kill the idiot for doing this to me.
“ Did you like seeing me fuck her the way you wanted to be fucked, Isobel?” His question threw me off. If he wanted to bait me to fight back, he was doing it perfectly.
“ You’re not the only guy I know who knows how to pleasure a woman, Hugo. Thank you for actually doing what you did. Now I can do whatever I want without feeling guilty at all. So, again, thank you for freeing me.”
He pressed his cock hard against my stomach, challenging me. “I see,” he grunted out. “Do you need me to take you to
