This is my all-time favorite series.

In 2013, I fell head over heels in love with Leonardo Fernandes in the first book of the series. Since 2013, I have read, reread, expected, devoured, and loved every single book in Breaking Series. And after reading maybe 400 or 500 books in all these years, I can say without a doubt this is my favorite series.

Breaking Free: Hannah Taylor and Leonardo Fernandes’ story. An American girl, very wealthy, who loves horses and her grandmother. She even had a dreamy relationship with a very famous polo player, but behind the appearances there is a very intense story that involved me from the first chapter to the epilogue.

To make things worse, I researched what morena meant. Apparently, it was a sweet nickname for a loved one, and it certainly didn’t help my cause.

Leonardo is my favorite book boyfriend. I had to create a category for him—the one and only love of my life—, because for me, Leo is perfect. He is a reformed bad boy, he supports Hannah, he loves and respects her so much. Plus he calls her morena and I just melt.

“I’m not a good guy, Hannah. In fact, I’m a bad guy trying to act like a good one for once. However, my good side is losing right now.”

Breaking Free has been the only book I’ve rated with 10 stars and the only thing I’m missing is an audiobook version and a Spanish edition.

Breaking Away: Beatriz Fernandes and Garret’s story. A Brazilian girl, struggling to get her own place in the world and to stop being under the shadow of the success of her brother and cousins, the famous polo players. Bia goes to study on the other side of the country and has some bad experiences in college that she has to handle on her own. She is a super strong and loving girl.

But I knew why I was doing it. I was doing it for me. For my ego, for my pride. I needed to be someone other than the rich girl who lives in the shadow of her family.

From the first book I wanted more about each character, so when Juliana announced that Bia would have her own book I was more than happy and looking forward to it.

Breaking Through: Hillary Taylor and Gui Fernandes’ story. Hillary is Hannah’s sister, and she is a wealthy girl, with a life that perhaps for others may be perfect. But three years earlier she had a traumatic event that has left her with some anxiety and panic attacks. Gui is Leonardo’s cousin, a successful polo player from Brazil, he decides to help Hillary overcome all her fears.

“Don’t hide,” Gui said, his tone low but sure. “I’m sorry if I keep staring, but you’re just too beautiful. Don’t … you don’t need to hide.”

They are so beautiful together, they support each other and fall in love without realizing it. I’ve read Breaking Through about three times now and I fall more and more in love with Hill and Gui.

Breaking Down: Gabriela Fernandes and Tyler’s story. Gabi is a Brazilian girl coming from the polo dynasty like her family, but unfortunately she doesn’t have as many opportunities as her cousins because women’s polo is not as famous. Gabi has to fight harder than the rest in order to achieve her dreams: to be close to her family and to be able to play polo. So she risks a lot by proposing a marriage of convenience to Tyler.

It was too much, too confusing.

I wanted to fight for him but I needed a signal first. I wouldn’t lay my heart open only to have him stomp all over it.

And oh my gosh, I never thought Juliana would write a book in this trope which is one of my favorites. And you know what? She nailed it.

Breaking Down was one of my favorite books of 2020 and I loved it from the first chapter to the end.

Bottom line, I love this series and every single one of its books. I love all the female characters, they are such truly heroines, Leonardo will always have my heart. While Gui and Tyler completely melt it.

Do yourselves a favor and buy the Breaking Series box set. I own all the Kindle books but I’ll purchase one copy as soon as I can because I love the cover.
