my article!"
He glanced at the paper and then looked at her searchingly. He didn't believe her.
"Stockard. I won't run away. I love you, remember?"
He grinned at her then and picked her up.
                  "Where are we going?"
                  "Upstairs. To change."
                  "Change into what?"
"Whatever you feel like getting married in."
                  "What?"
She gasped as his hand came down on her ass.
                  Hard.
                  Then he squeezed.
"You said you wouldn't run woman. I'm just making it official."

One Year Later

Stockard sighed as Pierre sniffed yet another wrought iron fence.
                  "Floppy eared mutt."
Every day it was the same thing. The silly dog could not decide where to go. Pierre was the most persnickety urinator in the entire world.
No, the history of the world.
He sighed and walked the dog through the left bank. It was the off season so they were in Paris. They'd been doing this routine for almost a year now, splitting their time to accommodate both of their work.
Only this time they had Pierre.
                  And Jasmine.
He grinned as Veronica pushed the stroller towards them. The dog had come first. Then the baby. All of this after a spectacular wedding in New York.
Of course, that hadn't held a candle to their first, secret wedding in Paris. He'd stood in the small chapel, waiting anxiously. The bride was dressed in a simple white gown, whipped up out of thin air by the hotel concierge.
The man had delighted in throwing together a last minute wedding.
Stockard would never forget the feeling in his heart as he watched Veronica walk down the aisle toward him. She was nothing he'd been expecting and more than he could have ever wished for.
                  And now she was his.
He leaned down to kiss his wife. Then he kissed his daughter's soft and downy head. The dog was licking the baby's toes, making her squeal.
                  "I love you wife."
                  "I love you husband."
All was well in the world.
                  Even the stupid dog.
