their shared fate before a smile crept over Adam’s face.
His eyes glowed with victory and…relief. Something she hadn’t expected to see as he had always projected such confidence in himself and his abilities.
With her heart in her eyes, Bree reached for him. The smile gracing his lips sent joy soaring in her heart, a joy she didn’t want to examine too closely. She hadn’t even uttered the words Adam longed to hear, but somehow he knew she had surrendered her entire heart to him with one word.
Adam’s long fingers stroked her inner thighs, learning and possessing her in ways only he could, with velvety soft and loving touches designed to ignite her very soul.
She loved him all the more for his gentle seduction. Even examining his previous actions, she couldn’t fault his methods. Sometimes a woman had to have the truth put firmly in her face before accepting it. Bree was afraid she’d always been one of those women who had to learn the hard way.
Sliding her hands over his chest, she marveled at the strength he hid under his button-down shirts, the muscles covered in a slight mat of furry ginger hair she longed to thread her fingers through, the flat stomach with a sexy little vee of hair leading down to his thoroughly naked front. His staff flying at full mast was a sight to behold and she let her eyes linger on his erection, taking in his bulbous head glistening with a teardrop of liquid at its end. His straining length rippled with veins, each competing for their share of blood. He was magnificent and he loved her.
Bree let the wonder of it sink in as her fingers explored all Adam had to offer. Scrolling over his lean hips and sneaking around to squeeze his backside, she reveled in the emotional roller coaster she was riding. Whereas minutes earlier, she had been running a way from the fire Adam had started in her, now she was running into the inferno without any of the traditional safety gear. No oxygen tank to provide her with vital air to breathe, no fireproof clothing to protect her from the dancing cinders, and no heavy boots to aid in her escape. She was the worst kind of firewoman; charging into the blaze in hopes of a rescue never recognizing she was the one in desperate need of rescuing.
Adam shifted his position and their bodies connected like two puzzle pieces, his head easily sliding into the warm home he had vacated earlier. It felt like an eternity since she’d felt his heat which was funny considering this was their first time together. But Bree was just beginning to realize with the right lover everything felt complete, and whether it was minutes or hours, being without that person robbed her of a piece of her soul every day, bit by bit.
She angled her hips upward, tak ing her fill of Adam’s slick and unforgiving length. He was large and thick, something she had only imagined in her dreams and she tightened around him in ever increasing contractions, accepting and welcoming him into her body and heart.
His nipples hardened into tight little nubs and she indulged her itch to pinch them, smiling when he caught his breath at her touch. She explored him to her heart’s content, claiming the flesh she had denied herself for so long.
With a ferocious growl, Adam leaned down and took her mouth, dipping in with his tongue and sweeping away any leftover doubts.
Locked in his embrace, his shaft dancing merrily against her swollen walls, Bree returned his kiss, their tongues parrying in a duel of love, respect, and trust.
He broke off to bury his head against her neck, nipping at her flesh, marking her, owning her.
Bree cried out as thrust after thrust brought her closer to the edge. He stilled and hot flesh rippled inside her as he remained immobile, his member pulsing and twitching.
Instantly her body responded, wrapping around his length and squeezing back in her own unique rhythm. The tiniest movement on his behalf and she would lose what little control she had. She was relieved Adam was
