came barreling toward him so he suckled on her clit,
using his teeth to graze her sensitive hood. She cried out, but continued
sucking him off. She shook from the orgasm racking her body. As her sweet
nectar flooded his lips, Axel too exploded with ecstasy. He continued to taste
her intimate flesh as the last tremors of pleasure were sucked dry from his
cock. Sephina released him and rolled over on the bed beside him.
A knock came from the front door. Axel groaned. “Ignore
that. Be very quiet and perhaps they’ll leave us be.”
Sephina sat up in bed and raised a brow. Her neon pink hair
was in a mess around her face, but only succeeded in making her look even
hotter. He wanted to grab her by the hair and bring her in for another kiss.
The kiss would linger and he’d slide his fingers in between her slippery folds
to—
The knock sounded again. “Axel, it’s me. Rosey.”
“Rose, huh?” Sephina shook her head, but thankfully, didn’t
seem pissed at the female arrival on his doorstep. “So is that the succubus you
told me about?”
    “What? No.”
“Axel. I brought you some gingerbread.”
Seph’s eyes swirled with gold at the young woman’s
proclamation. “I love gingerbread!”
Axel grabbed her when she tried to leave the bed. “I’ll buy
you some from town. I don’t feel like dealing with her right now.”
“So what’s she want? Drugs? You trade ’shrooms for baked
goods, or what?”
“No. I healed her the other day.”
“You… Oh.” For the first time, he thought he detected a
jealous glare pass through her gaze. “Well, why don’t you go get that
gingerbread and send her on her way? Then perhaps we can have some gingerbread
and commence round two.”
    “Don’t do that.”
“Do what?” She feigned an innocent expression.
“Turn to sex instead of examining how you really feel. Like
how you don’t like thinking about another woman fantasizing about me.”
Her jaw dropped. Casting him a glare, she tossed her pink
locks behind her and began pulling on her clothes. “Don’t flatter yourself. I
happen to love gingerbread and it’s quite the aphrodisiac. And in case you
didn’t know—I’m a succubus!”
As she fled his room, Axel heaved a sigh and pulled on his
leather pants. Hopefully Rosey was at the door to stop Seph so he could ease
her apparently tainted ego. Her response to Rosey made him wonder if she cared
for him more than she let on. “Seph!”
She turned from her place at the door and glared at him.
Luckily, she appraised his bare stomach with a flicker of fire in her bright
amber gaze.
Gods, she’s beautiful. “Be mad at me, woman. But know
that I think you’re even more stunning when you embrace your inner hellion.”

Chapter 8

“Damn it. She’s already gone and she took the gingerbread
with her.”
Sephina stepped out of the home, but didn’t go far. Axel’s
hand encircled her waist and spun her so she was only inches away. His lips
hovered just above hers as if they weren’t yet done with her. “I want to show
you something.”
Her heart rate spiked, sending warmth throughout her body.
Before she could answer, his grip on her tightened and wings sprang from his
back. The giant, blue-scaled wingspan flapped downward, jetting them high up
into the air. Thank gods she didn’t scream like a complete wimp. Instead, her
fingernails dug tiny semicircle caves into Axel’s skin as she clung for dear
life.
“Are you okay?” He grinned down at her as they continued to
soar straight up into the clouds.
The sight of his boyish smile made the rest of the world
melt away. It was obvious that flying made him very happy. She grinned back. “I
should ask you the same thing.” She released her death grip and revealed five
tracks of blood.
“I’ll wear those with pride.” The smile faded from his lips,
but it lingered in his stare. Never before had words given her such a buzz.
His embrace tightened and their flight pattern suddenly dropped
back toward
