me know when you wanna tell Blu, I won’t be seeing you until then. I walked out the door and to my car. I had tears in my eyes, because everything was about to change.
Chapter Nine
Linda
I followed Ghost to the four seasons hotel, and I watched as he paid cash for a room. I wondered who he was meeting. He had been acting different. He always kept secrets, but lately it seemed like he didn’t tell me anything. He was the man of my dreams when we first started dating. He was everything I wanted and when he asked me to marry him I was the happiest woman alive. His father loved me and I got along great with his mother.
I came from a small city in Mexico that wasn’t even on a map. My mama and papa worked long hours in the field for little pay so me and my seven sisters could have clothes on our backs and food on the table. I was the youngest of all my sisters, and they all went off and married. When I turned twelve my dad shipped me off to the United States to live with his brother. He wanted me to have the best in life, he said him and mama would be right behind me. But, they never made it. My papa got shot and killed trying to protect my mama. The cartel in Mexico took over the town and rapped the women, while killing anyone who got in their way. All my sisters died, but one. Maria ended up moving here with me and my uncle and got on heavy drugs. My uncle tried to get her off of them, but she wouldn’t stop. She saw our whole family get killed; I didn’t blame her. I knew what she was going through because I missed them too.
I watched as Ghost got on the elevator and saw the floor he went to. There was a large display that showcased each floor’s number. He was headed to the top floor, as I watched my husband go up, I spotted, Emilia walk in. I knew she was here to see Ghost; I wasn’t a dummy. . I saw some emails exchanged between them throughout the years, but never said anything. I knew he wasn’t in love with me. He loved me because I was the mother of his children, but that was it. He was forced to marry me, and I found that out a couple years ago when I heard him whispering about it on the phone. I also found out that Blu was his child as well. I hated that Emila carried and delivered his first child. When I confronted Ghost about it, he told me that it wasn’t my business and to stay out of it.
I wanted to divorce him when I found out, but he told me if I ever tried to leave or tell anyone what I knew he would kill me and make it look like an accident. Since that day I hated him with everything inside me. I was planning on leaving, but in order to leave with money I had to catch him in an act of cheating. I hired a private investigator to follow Ghost’s every move. He and Emila met every weekend at an apartment in Atlanta. I was going to black mail him into giving me a half a million dollars.
I left the hotel in tears; I couldn’t do this anymore. I needed to leave and start my life. I wished I could bring Ryder with me, but Ghost would never allow me to. But, I knew the best I could do was write Ryder a letter and leave a new phone number where he could contact me.
I was planning on moving to California to start fresh. I already cleared out my bank account and put the money in a new bank account with a fake name. Ghost wouldn’t be able to trace it. I made copies of the photos with him and Emila and left it on his desk along with a letter explaining if he didn’t give me the half of Million in the account I gave him, in forty-eight hours I have my lawyer on speed dial.
I drove to my massive mansion and ran up the stairs to grab the bags I had packed. I put them into the car
