the word got around that there was a new and sexy female kayaking guide. Her bear had calmed down and was acting normal for the first time in her life.
“What’s this?” Connor said looking at the wrapped box.
“I always felt bad for breaking your Nintendo when we were kids,” she said, as he opened it.
He pulled out an old Nintendo complete with two controllers and the red gun for Duck Hunt. His mouth dropped.
“I threw out my games years ago,” he said, sounding devastated.
“Look what I found,” Roxy said, pulling a game out of her purse.
“Mario Kart!” they screamed together.
Cory grabbed the game from his hands and looked at it. “What’s this Daddy?”
Rebecca smiled watching her family and friends around the table. She still felt blessed every day how things worked out. It had to have been fate.
Connor had turned Brooke Excursions into the number one kayaking company in the state of New Hampshire. The large blue wall in the lobby was covered in awards and acknowledgments. Rebecca often found him standing in front of the wall staring at it with his hands on his hips.
Rebecca had found her place in the mountains as well. She had opened up a small school house to teach little shifters. It was hard for the little bears, wolves and tigers to go to school with ‘normal’ kids. She offered an environment where they were free to phase without any schoolyard repercussions.
It was normal for her now to turn around from the blackboard and see a lion strutting around the classroom. She loved it.
“Where’s your gift Rebecca?” Sidney asked.
“He gets my gift later tonight,” she said with a smirk.
They all giggled around the table, except for Edwin.
“She’s talking about sex right?” Edwin asked.
Rebecca ignored him and leaned into her man, her bear, and kissed him on the lips.
