family.
His attention turned back to Lou. She was looking straight ahead so he could only see the side of her face, but she had a nice profile. She was no longer shivering because Alex had the heat blasting. That was a good thing.
He had to wonder what she was thinking. Was she considering the events of the afternoon or were there other things on her mind? Eric had a sudden feeling tonight would be the night. If she hadn’t pushed Alex with questions, then it added one more notch in the belt of trusting her. It was happening slowly. Possibly more quickly for him, but Alex had always been more analytical. She was an open-minded woman with a good, solidly grounded spirit. Her mind was capable of processing things quickly, and she was adaptable.
Eric knew the lack of sexual interaction bothered her. He had seen the looks of disappointment when she was trying to be sexy and didn’t get a response from them. More aptly she had gotten a response, but physical interaction was limited to caresses and kisses. Alex forbid it until he was sure the time was right.
He didn’t mind being under Alex’s thumb, but there were occasions when he felt the need to question the man’s authority. That time was coming quickly if he didn’t lift the ban on having sex with Lou. It might be partially because he was becoming exceedingly frustrated by sleeping curled to her body. Alex felt the same way. Whenever Lou wasn’t present, they always enjoyed the alone time to have sex. Sex was not a catalyst for their relationship, but it was always exciting and added a warm glow between them.
There would be one alteration with Lou in that neither of them could take on their true form with her. That would be something for a later day. Hopefully in time they could take her home to meet their family. If they accepted her as one of their own … Eric grinned at the thought. He wanted that, Alex wanted that. To have their own female would be a dream come true.
Eric was surprised when the RV came to a halt and Alex slid from the driver’s seat. He looked directly at him and rolled his eyes. “We need to get south so I can open the windows without freezing to death.”
Eric caught Alex’s meaning and grimaced. He had been thinking too hard and could smell his own sexual musk in the air. “Oops.”
“Yeah, thanks,” replied Alex with a high browed shake of his head. “Let’s go eat. We will discuss that later.”
“I’d rather do more than discuss.”
Lou stood and stared at the two of them. “I want to get into a warmer climate,” replied Alex. Let’s see what the temperature is in North Carolina. Maybe we’ll pull over for a few days.” Alex turned and tugged on his coat, then opened the door, walking out. Lou followed, and Eric scrambled out of the seat to go with them. He was hungry as hell.

Chapter Five

They were back on the road with their stomachs sated an hour and a half later. Lou was really surprised at how well they knew the people working there. Alex said they had been in the restaurant only three times before, but almost everyone knew them by name. She was welcomed as if she were a part of the family, and when either of the men fed her something off their plate or kissed her, no one seemed to bat an eyelash.
As they pulled back onto the highway, she asked. “So how do you know them again?”
“We’re friends with the owner. She introduced us to everyone when we first went there.”
It still seemed strange that a bunch of waiters and waitresses would remember them. They were stunning specimens of manliness, but still—they weren’t famous or anything. “I guess it just struck me as odd. They all seem to know you by name.”
“I guess we’re just unforgettable,” said Eric.
She chuckled. “I have to agree.”
Alex turned a flashing smile to her. “Thank you. Are you going to crash for a while so you can drive later or would you rather pull over and hole up for the night? I checked my phone and the cold
