looked at me and smiled.
“Well that waiter over there is making me a little hot, I thought I saw you chatting to Daniel Ace over by the restrooms”, her tone changing slightly.
“We were having a quick chat about our forthcoming meeting to arrange what needed doing”, I hated the fact I was lying to Lisha about what had actually happened.
I quickly turned to conversation to Dr Van Beek the man whose job I was currently doing,
“So when do you think Van Beek’s going to make an appearance”, I asked between mouthfuls of Spaghetti.
“He’s loving his time in the Bahamas, with all those dusky maidens...you know how it is, old men and young women”, Lisha laughed at the thought of Van Beek on the beach with a bevy of beauties.
“At least I have you by my side Lish...good moral support” I smiled at her as she picked up her glass.
“Well here’s to moral support and not getting harassed by old men”, we clinked our glasses together and continued to eat.
As the night progressed we decided to head to Ruby Skye and ‘party’ the night away for a few hours. Arriving outside we could see that the queue was long, if Joey was on the door it would be a simple hello and we would be inside. Lisha drove her car along the curb and a waist coated Valet appeared and parked her.
“Be very careful with my baby, any scratches on her and I’ll withhold your tip and possibly remove your nuts”, the valet carefully drove the crossfire away and me and Lisha walked up the steps that led to the door. Joey was on and he waved us in with a smile.
The atmosphere inside the club was electric, with the thump of speakers rattling my fillings.
“Drink?”, Lisha asked as we headed towards the bar, a good looking man stood behind the bar mixing cocktails. We attempted to make ourselves heard, but all it took was Lisha and me flashing our cleavage and he came over to us.
“What can I get you beautiful ladies?”, his voice purring at us and his eyes facing our chests.
“Two bottles of Coors...”, he moved behind him and took the cold bottles out of the fridge and handed them to us.
“There you are...$16.50...”, I handed him a twenty and told him to keep the change.
Navigating through the dance floor we headed towards a couple of seats that were covered in red velvet fabric.
“Seems like a popular place tonight..plenty of guys looking for some fun...”, Lisha’s eyes began to scan the room looking for the right guy or was is Mr Right Now.
“Been here a few times, although don’t look now, there’s a couple of guys heading our way.
Two overdressed men in their thirties approached our table and I knew Lisha was in her element.
“Can I help you..”, Lisha asked as she lowered her top slightly.
“Me and my friend wondered if you would like a drink?”, the taller man looking at Lisha, the shorter of the men kept looking at me.
“Drink, of course...something fancy Maddie?”, she winked at me and continued to lead them on.
“Sure honey.. Champagne? ...” the man had now sat down next to Lisha and his friend next to me. I could smell his cologne and taste it, cheap and nasty.
“Paul, get us some champagne will ya!”, his friend who was sitting next to me who was apparently called Paul stood up and headed towards the bar.
“So you have been here before then? ...?”, Lisha looked at me and then looked at him
“Um..No..I’m Lisha this is Maddie, were here on vacation”, the lie that Lisha had told seemed to fool the man.
“Well I’m Sam and the man coming back with the champagne is Paul, were from L.A”, he pointed to Paul who was weaving in and out of the crowd with a bottle of champagne and four glasses.
“Well here we are...”, he placed the glasses on the table and filled them with the champagne, the bubbles rising to the surface.
Chapter Eight
“What shall we celebrate then?” Lisha asked as she handed me a glass and picked her’s up.
“Here’s to beautiful women and
