“Not much. He’s a club member. And he’s hot. The way he’s checking you out is shameful, you can’t feel that?
"Fine, I think he's hot, but we work together," Eden said, her eyes fixed on Chase and his date that seemed to be doing all the talking for them both.
Mikala threw her arm around Eden's shoulders, squeezing tight. "You need to face the fact that this thing between the two of you is going to win, just mark my words."
Eden shook free of her friend and finished her water in one gulp, not so ladylike but she didn't really care. "There’s nothing going on between us. Will you be ok if I leave now?" Eden asked.
"Sure, go ahead. We're not busy downstairs. I'll have Carl take over here. Get some sleep and thanks for the help. Love you." She air kissed her cheeks and slapped her butt as she moved past her. "Mark my words, Eden Fox!"
Eden threw her black bow tie at Mikala as she made her way to the door and slid out, but only after glancing over to see that Chase and his date were nowhere to be seen. She wondered if Chase had taken her to one of the rooms, or perhaps back to his place or hers. Eden’s answer came in the form of the hot date, as she walked over to the bar and took a seat, very much alone. Eden smiled to herself and left.

Eden barely moved from her drawing board when a rap at the door required her attention.
“Come in,” she called out, putting the finishing touches of color to her creation, capping the marker and placing it in its appointed spot.
    “Hi there!”
Eden scrunched her face up when she realized that Paul had slimed into her office. She wished she hadn’t sent Amanda on an errand. She looked up to see him making his way over, carrying a drawing tube over his shoulder.
“Yes Paul, what can I do for you?” she asked, short of coming off as totally rude.
“My father asked me to bring these site drawings and blueprints to you.” He slipped the container off of his shoulder and held it out to her.
“Paul, I don’tdo site drawings or blueprints. Why would I need these?” Her puzzlement was fast turning into irritation when she realized that he was staring at her tits. He was such a pig. She felt herself growing wary of this conversation and the sight of his obnoxious face.
He was getting far to close, and she stood quickly, taking the tube from him and placing it on her desk, trying to put some distance between them.
“He asked that you deliver them to Chase Dean, personally. They have revisions that are to be delivered right away. There are important papers you need to pick up too. He can’t take them himself and as you’re his second in command…it’s up to you,” he pointed out, and she flinched at the sight of his arrogant, rat like features.
“You can’t do this, Paul? What about a messenger service?” she asked. “I’m really busy today.”
“Hey, he asked me to ask you to do this. I’m in charge of accounting not this shit.” He leaned toward her. She stiffened as the smell of tobacco smoke and garlic permeated her nostrils, making her want to heave.
“Fine, I’ll do it. I don’t have time, but I’ll do it!” She grabbed her purse and threw the tube over her shoulder, racing past him before he had time to make any more advances.
It didn’t take long to get to her destination in the business district only a few blocks away. She managed to almost pull herself out of her mood during the walk. She stepped into the Dean Construction Enterprises building and stood in awe. Taking in the multi-layered glass and steel tube construction, it was like a crystal palace with a rugged, draconian feel.
At the front desk, she announced that she had a delivery for Chase Dean. The security guard gave her a pass tag and, pointing to the elevators, directed her to get out on the twenty-fifth floor. People got on and off the elevator, floor after floor. Eden couldn’t help notice that this was a very busy, rushed place, making her feel rather
