hell.” Lu chuckled at his own joke as did
most of the gods.
“I thought you were the very best demon?” Doc
joked.
“You are so smart. Are you sure you don’t
want to dump my brother and trade up?”
“You always make me laugh,” she answered.
Hades knew she didn’t take Lu seriously, but sometimes he wondered
if Lu was serious or not. He did notice that while Lu flirted
heavily with any female near him, he never seemed to take it
further. There were a few single females that he was around but
only when he wore his jumper which covered his tail and wings.
Those were the rules because the world may have accepted the gods,
well mostly, but they were no where near ready for the demons.
“Yeah, you’re so funny Lu!” Hades said with a
look on his face that was anything but amused.
“Someone needs to keep you mated males on
your toes so you remember what treasures you have,” Lu said with a
chuckle. He was probably the only one that didn’t seem to fear
Hades. That was probably because Lu was just a tiny bit nuts and as
lethal, if not more so, as Hades was.
Zeus gave Hercules the task of taking the
information gathered and recommending the top two choices. “I am
going to recommend Easter Island, or Rapa Nui as it’s named,
because no one is guarding it. There seems to be a pattern to the
rotation they are using to try to catch us when we follow the list.
If the pattern holds, we won’t have any opposition if we raid this
facility now.”
“Easter Island, isn’t that famous for some
big ass statues?” Hermes asked.
“Big ass statues?” Cherish questioned with a
giggle. Hermes leaned in giving her a tender kiss.
“Yes, massive stone sculptures dot the beach
there. They are so massive that scientist question how the
primitives that lived there at the time were able to move them, but
we know they probably had help from some of our ancestors maybe
even our father,” Hercules answered ignoring the mushy couple. “The
other location I recommend is Ittoqqortoormitt, Greenland for
vastly different reasons.”
“That was a mouthful,” Lu said with a
chuckle. Hercules glared at him, he was serious about these
meetings because these missions could result in saving lives or
losing them. He probably thought Lu couldn’t take anything
seriously but that couldn’t be further from the truth. Lu was
simply tired of everything in life being so serious. He ached for
what he couldn’t have and he saw his brothers gaining one by one.
He wanted his own family, he wanted a mate so he could stop
searching through the females he found. He feared hurting them and
he feared being hurt by them. Humor was a defense so that he didn’t
dwell on all that was missing in his life now and all the pain he
had visited on him in the past.
“Like I said before I was rudely interrupted,
the reasons for this location are different. This one is being
guarded but not as well as others. That is probably because of its
distance from here but it could be that they have others residing
below in the facility itself. They may be trying to avoid calling
attention to it but afraid not to give it some extra protection in
case we show up.”
“You know what you’re suggesting?” Zeus
asked, his voice showing both excitement and worry.
“Yes, I believe they may be holding a large
number of our brothers. I’ve looked at the heat output, energy
usage, and supplies brought in. I would estimate there are around
one hundred and fifty people living there. Judging by Origin’s
actions in the past I would estimate a hundred of them are
imprisoned subjects. There’s only one way to be sure, but if I’m
right, this location has the largest number of our people we can
recover.”
Silence, no one knew what to say. Hades
spoke, “What the hell are we waiting for?”
Now everyone tried to speak at once. “Quiet!”
Zeus growled and everyone was quiet. “The choice is clear, prepare
for the mission to Greenland.”
Everyone broke into
