corner. There, standing in her doorway with wild hair and panic-filled eyes stood her sister. The cold sweat she had going on tinged the air, but it was the way she anchored herself to the doorframe for support that really had Honor worried. Her sister never lost her cool. Ever. Not even when they were teenagers and got caught casting a sleeping spell over all the teachers just so they could go to a Pink concert. Wait. How did she smell her sister from all the way over here?
    She turned to Jake and whispered, “So my senses will be like yours? So how did I smell to you when the hex took over?”
    “Like a sweet piece of meat.” His eyes smoldered and she splayed her hands along her midriff to calm her nerves. Whoa—he was good at that.
    She turned back to her sister. “I’m right here.”
    Ambrosia slammed the door shut, raced into the room and fell to her knees in front of her. “I’m not going to ask what the hell you’re doing, why I smell rose and lavender or why you’re naked, although that part is obvious.” Her words tripped out between gulps of air.
    “Ambrosia, take a deep breath and calm down.”
    “Maybe I should step out and let you ladies—”
    “No.” Honor stopped Jake from rising and motioned for him to stay. She only had one blanket and she wasn’t in for a peep show tonight.
    “Honor, you have to help me. I don’t know how it happened. One minute I was working an abundance spell under the full moon in our normal spot in the woods, in the next two wolves were hot on my heels. I tore my favorite dress, hurt my foot, lost my panties and I think...” Ambrosia slapped a hand to her forehead, scrunched her eyes closed and pressed her lips into a tight line. Crimson crept up her sister’s cheeks until her whole face beamed red. Her breathing came ragged and she reached out to soothe Ambrosia.
    “It’s okay. You can tell me.”
    “I think I jinxed two alphas with a love spell.”
    Shut the front door.
    Ambrosia cringed, tears rimming her eyes. It took a few frantic seconds for the words to sink in. Two alphas? “As in more than one?” No wonder Ambrosia was freaking out. It might mean double the pleasure, but in their world, it also meant double the punishment, too.
    “And this is a bad thing?” Jake leaned over her shoulder and voiced the question she sensed from him through their connection.
    Ambrosia’s chest stilled and her fingers tightened in her lap. “It is when you’re the daughter of the High Council of Magick.”
    A sly smile lifted the corners of his mouth. “Witches and their spells. What a web you ladies weave.”
    Honor elbowed Jake.
    A knock brought all three around to look at the door.
    “Ambrosia Grace. We know you’re in there,” called a muffled deep, masculine voice before another added, “We can smell your sweet body, and we want a taste.”
    Honor looked at Ambrosia. “Sounds like you better let the big bad wolves in, sweetheart, before they bust the door down.”
    Jake wrapped his arms around Honor, leaned in, and whispered the words she already knew, “Hold on baby. This is going to be a hella lot of fun to watch.”
