looked at her, reaching for the dry bowl of stale popcorn on the counter and stuffed a bunch of it in his mouth. That’s disgusting, Sasha thought. That was probably exactly what attracted the bugs in the first place. Anton looked Sasha over as if studying her, reading her, seeing through her. A roach scurried out of the bowl.
It was making Sasha nervous, and as she glanced over to the clock ticking on the wall, it was taking way too long as well.
There was silence, just the ticking of the clock and the crunching of the stale popcorn in Anton’s crooked tooth mouth.
“I don’t believe you,” Anton said, exiting the kitchen.
“What do you mean?” Sasha said, following him out as he grabbed his keys.
“I can’t believe you would tell me this at the very last minute. 45 minutes before my show. When are you leaving?”
Sasha swallowed with relief. She thought Anton had meant something else.
“Oh, soon.  Right after you. I just need to grab a few things.”
“Where are you going to go?” Anton asked.
“Just around. Take a walk or something.”
“Well, I’m going to the casino to watch it. One of my co-workers will let me sneak into the admin office for an hour or so,” he said, turning the door knob.
“Well, honestly, you might not want to come back for a good... I don’t know 3-4 hours. You know how toxic that stuff can be.”
Anton sighed, “Yeah. Next time, let me know. I don’t like driving all this way just to have to drive all the way back. We need every penny we can get.  Speaking of which, how’s the rent money coming along? You get that raise you were talking about?”
Sasha swallowed hard, “Uh... yeah, it’s great. I’ll definitely have the money to you on time.”
“Good. See ya,” he said, slamming the door behind him.
Sasha took a deep breath.   She had maybe seven minutes to take a shower, clean up, and get ready for her first client.
Just in case, she locked and chained the door after Anton left.

    CHAPTER 11
S asha had never taken a shower so quickly. She must have lathered herself a good seven times though. She wanted to make sure she smelled great.  She was wrapped in nothing but her towel and was combing her hair, when there was a knock at the door.
“Well, here goes nothing,” she said, under her breath. She tightened the towel around her curving form and slowly padded to the door. She wanted to build the client’s suspense, but she was also trying to gather her nerve. She decided that the best thing to do was to project confidence as if she’d done this before a million times. God, just don’t let anybody recognize me, s he prayed quickly.
“Hello,” she heard herself say, a  richer tone as if she were a sex machine.  Sasha opened the door.
In front of her was a tall strapping football player, looking stud with blonde hair. He stepped in and looked around as if he was casing the place. The stud had thick shoulders upon which his blonde hair rested. It was swept back from his forehead. He had deep green eyes that were alive and alert.
He looked a little familiar, but Sasha couldn’t pinpoint from exactly where, so she thought she must be imagining things.
“Hey, what’s up? So, how do we do this?” he asked, very matter-of-fact.
“Can I take your jacket?” Sasha asked, trying to prolong the moment. The guy handed it to her and kept looking around the place as if he was being given a grand tour. “Cool place you’ve got, lady. You living with somebody? You do a lot of people here?” he asked.  One too many questions for Sasha’s tastes.
“Actually, I just began my... practice here recently.”
“Oh...okay, cool so...when do we get started?” he asked. He seemed just a little bit nervous, like maybe this was his first time doing something like this. His nerves put Sasha more at ease. He was a good looking man, that was for sure. At least 6’3, well-built, with green eyes that maybe projected more confidence than he really had.
