She took a deep breath . “Kimmy kept telling me I was going to turn into an old maid, if I didn’t go out and have some fun. I was supposed to meet her there but she never showed. Then I saw you and my mind went crazy. I didn’t think they actually made men like you,” and she laughed.
Vince chuckled . “So you decided to have a little fun?”
“ Yes, I got brave.” She got quiet then said. “And look where it got me.” She stared off.
Vince turned and looked at her . “Misty, after that night no-one I have been with could satisfy me like you did. I looked for you at more parties but never saw you.”
“ That’s because to me I had my fantasy and it was over,” she looked at him.
“ I don’t know Misty something changed in me. I never was like this with anyone else.”
Misty laughed . “You fell in love with me Vince and you didn’t want to be tamed. So you became abusive towards me. You wanted to punish me for it because you were afraid of it.”
Vince looked at her and thought about what she said . “Why would I want to do that?”
“ It’s the only answer I can come up with Vince. Do you have a better one?”
Vince looked down . “No Misty I don’t,” he paused. “When I saw you at the fair and saw that guy kiss you. Everything went black. All I remember is Mark grabbing me and Kimmys voice. I don’t know what I would have done. I thought I was over you.” He looked back up at her.
“ You have to get over me Vince.”
“ I don’t want to get over you Misty.”
“ I am too scared of you.”
“ I want to show you that you have nothing to be scared of.” He reached over and touched her face.
Misty took a deep breath . “What happens if you get angry with me? Will you make me apologize and make me beg? Will you get me so excited to the point I can’t hardly stand and leave me to punish me?” She started to tear
“ Misty I need to control this. I need you to help me can’t you see.” His voice was soft.
“ What happens if it can’t be controlled Vince? Will you torture me forever?”
Vince thought about it. He wanted Misty so bad he wanted her back. He had to come up with something. He needed her to believe he would change. He needed her to help him change.
“Misty please listen to me. Six months give us six months. If things don’t get better if I don’t change I promise Misty I will never bother you again.” Vince was hoping. But he didn’t know if he could do it himself.
Misty stood there and looked at him. “Six months Vince, but the first time I feel threatened or scared it is over.”
Vince smiled . “Six months Misty.” He was thinking he had her. He pulled her close and went to kiss her and she pushed him away.
“ It’s not going to start out like this Vince”. She was testing him.
Vince felt his blood rush again. He wanted to pull her back to him. He felt it but he stopped it quickly . “Okay Misty okay.”

He wanted to punish her for not giving to him. But he had to control it if he wanted her. He had to come to grips with himself. He had to admit to himself that she controlled things. And not just that, he had to admit it wasn’t her fault he fell in love with her. She didn’t ask for it. He kept refusing to believe a woman could have tamed him. And he punished her for it. And still, it was hard for him to accept, even though he knew it was true.
